Virgin Mobile introduces new 'unlimited' plans starting at $30 per month

Virgin Mobile has announced a new set of plans, each of which offer unlimited talk and text, with up to 6GB of high-speed data. All of Virigin's new plans also come with the prepaid carrier's data-free music streaming, which allows you to stream music from select services with no impact to your data allotment.

These new plans start at $30 per month for 500MB of high-speed data. For $40, you can get 4GB of data, while $50 per month nets you 6GB of data. Virgin Mobile, a prepaid brand of Sprint, also offers Data Packs, which you can add on to your monthly plan at the price of $5 for 1GB or $10 for 2GB. If you run through your data allotment and choose not to purchase a Data Pack, you won't be charged an overage, but your speeds will be throttled back to 2G.

These plans all support Virigin's data-free music streaming which currently supports streaming with no impact on your data pool for Pandora, iHeartRadio, Slacker, 8tracks and Milk Music.

  • And what does the picture of a Moto G have with this article? The word Moto or Moto G wasn't mentioned in this article even once! Posted via the Android Central App on my LG V10
  • I would assume it's because Virgin offers the Moto G 3rd gen. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Is that cheap in the US? I'm Paying the equivalent of 8 USD for unlimited plan (well, LTE throttled down to 3g speed after 20gb but that's pretty much unlimited). Posted via the Android Central App
  • I love how on all these US carrier articles people from other countries come over and brag about how cheap their data plans are. First, you are likely in a much smaller country than the US, as it costs a lot to have native coverage over such a large area, and two, while you may have cheaper data plans I can almost guarantee that you are paying way more than $1.60 for a gallon of gas.
  • First, it was a honest question, no need to get upset by it.
Second, If I were you, I won't go betting anytime soon. Paying 1.5$ for gallon. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Nice serve, sir! Posted via the Android Central App
  • So people 'bragging' about cheap data plans apparently upsets you yet in the same message you 'brag' about cheap gas? At least the comment on data plans was relevant to the article! Posted on LG V10 via the Android Central App
  • $60 on MetroPCS gets you unlimited LTE data and a better network.
  • Agreed 60 bucks is still a good deal for 23 gb of LTE data...aka read Metro PCS fine print. "customers who use up 23 gb of data during payment cycle will have their data de-prioritized." Posted via the Android Central App
  • When on a congested tower.
  • Like a virgin......called for the very first la la
