TripAdvisor Teams Up with Google Play Music to Provide the Ultimate Travel Soundtracks

Free Two Month Trial of Google Play Music Service Available for a Limited Time Through TripAdvisor App

TripAdvisor®, the travel planning and booking site, and Google Play Music have teamed up to offer Android users a new music experience on the TripAdvisor app with locally-themed music playlists tailored specifically for some of the most popular travel destinations around the globe.

Whether in the travel planning phase or on a trip, users of the TripAdvisor Android app will now be able to take "getting into vacation mode" to a whole new level with access to a wide array of well-known and hidden-gem soundtracks for popular cities, curated by Google Play Music.

Travelers can listen to Cafe Italiano while sipping an espresso in Rome, rave to the Underground Club Sounds of Berlin, dance to Sao Paulo Funk or simply pack to some of the top hits of 2016.

"Music and travel go hand in hand for many people. This collaboration is designed to help make key life moments, such as summer holidays, even more magical with culturally specific music. We hope that music and travel lovers will discover new soundtracks and travel tips together on the TripAdvisor app," said Zahavah Levine, Vice President of Partnerships, Google Play.

TripAdvisor Android app users can access the travel soundtracks, starting today, by clicking on the Google Play Music icons included within select TripAdvisor destination pages on the TripAdvisor Android app. This app feature is available in more than 60 countries around the world where Google Play Music is available.

For a limited time, TripAdvisor Android app users will also receive a two-month free trial* to the Google Play Music service that offers commercial-free access to Google Play Music's library of over 35 million songs and curated playlists to suit any time of day, activity or mood, as well as the ability to listen to music offline.

  • The Play Music offer is only good for new users. I was unable to find any link myself in the app but after poking around and checking on room rates for a town I stay in every 2 weeks a link popped up on the main page. It was in a tab for the town I looked into, click it and it shows "Your soundtrack to (town)", click on the link and it says that it's only good for new users. Bummer.
