Application permissions are always a topic of discussion, and with Nougat the way they are handled has undergone some major changes.

Previously, you were given a list of permissions an application asked before you installed the app, and once you did install, you had no ability to edit those without a bit of modification. Now, things are more granular and we can select (and revoke) permissions at will and will be asked when we first run an app. Of course, the app has to have been updated to take advantage of the new fine-tuning here. While this can cause a bit of confusion, the Android development team have some best practices and methods that should make thing less painful.

Keeping track of what an application can and cannot do is important. We're here to help keep it all sorted.
