LG sells 15.4 million smartphones in Q1 2015, records revenue of $3.27 billion

The healthy growth in sales figures makes this LG's best-ever first-quarter in terms of revenues. The manufacturer's overall shipments for Q1 2015 totaled 15.4 million, slightly lower than the 15.5 million managed last quarter. Sales from North America increased by an impressive 66 percent from Q1 2014, with a growth of 57 percent witnessed in South Korea thanks to the introduction of the G Flex 2 in the country earlier this year.

With shipments of 16.8 million handsets, Q3 2014 still stands as LG's best quarter over the last five years, with the manufacturer counting on the LG G4 to boost sales this quarter.

Elsewhere, LG's home entertainment division recorded a KRW 4.44 trillion ($4.03 billion), down 5 percent from the same period a year ago. Increased focus on 4K and OLED TVs is said to increase sales in Asian as well as North American markets in Q2 2015.

  • LG always makes my list of considerations when it comes to phones, TVs and appliances. I also own one of its washers and love it. Posted via Android Central App with my LG G3
  • Yep. I have an LG surround sound system, LG washer and dryer, and recently got LG G3. Love all of them.
  • I love going to Tmobile and seeing people that want a mid to low end device. Samsung's low end isn't cost effective or they look exactly the same as their other low end offerings. And people don't recognize the branding on the other phones.
So guess who has some recognition and doesn't look like what everyone else has, LG phones. Similar layout to Sammy, but different in many respects. Rooted LG G2 Rooted GSIII

  • LG is my preferred Electronics manufacturer when ever i want a TV or any appliance followed by Samsung Posted via the Android Central App
  • Hope the G4 continues their road of success. We just bought an LG webOS TV and I'm in love with it. Apart from the somewhat glitchy web browser, it's a joy to use. Getting the G4 as my new daily driver.
  • LG should stick to home appliances Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yeah my new LG washer and dryer are awesome! Also I really liked the nexus 4 and I'm still using my nexus 5... here's to hoping the nexus5 (2015) edition is even better!!! I'm ready for a new nexus smaller than shamu!
  • Good news, this must motivate them to do even better, build a smaller G4 or something to compete size wise with the smaller GS6. Something far better than what the G3S was. Posted via AC App from Note 4
  • The only LG device I'm interested in is those OLED TVs. They have the most unbeatable price in that dept. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Would rather have the body of the g3 with the camera from the g4 with the snapdragon 805 and a 3500mah battery. And sure the display from the g4. But the g4 is a rectangular mess of ugly Posted via the Android Central App
  • Nexus phone of 2015, fingers crossed it's back to LG.
  • just got a g3 and am very happy with it, refreshing change coming from Samsung. Posted via the Android Central App

  • I can say I say I participated in LG 1Q earnings. In mid Feb. I signed my first ever contract for the LG G Vista. So many people keep talking about the LG G4. But look forward to how they improve their next Phablet. I thought about buying an LG home theater system but I have decided to buy a Vizio TV and sound plate. My next LG purchase will be an LG Blu-ray player. I do own the LG G Black Titan watch.
