Kyocera has today announced plans to enter the European market with the new Torque smartphone. The seemingly indestructible brick will be released this spring for the business-to-business platform in both Germany and France.
While this particular handset shares the same name as the device available on Sprint in the US, it's actually similar to Verizon's Brigadier. Specifications-wise, we're looking at a 4.5-inch HD (720p) sensitive display on the Torque, which can read input even while wearing gloves. This is joined by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon CPU, 3,100 mAh battery and an 8MP shooter.
Because it's Kyocera, the Europe-bound Torque is compliant with both IPX5 and IPX8 waterproofing standards. The company has yet to release details on pricing and a launch date, but it's believed the Torque will be available at the mid-range price point.
