Huawei Mate 8 coming to the U.S. says the WSJ

Huawei's powerhouse Mate 8 may be coming to the states, according to the Wall Street Journal.

People "familiar with the matter" say we'll see the Mate 8 at CES this coming January, and we should expect it to be sold in the U.S. sometime later in the year. Huawei declined to officially discus any availability for the US market, but the WSJ points out that Huawei has been working hard to break into the US market, and are planning to open a new software design house in San Francisco in 2016.

We have already seized a leading position in the Chinese [smartphone] market. We hope that in the U.S. we can achieve the same success — Huawei Deputy Chairman Ken Hu

Huawei executive George Zhou also announced that Huawei has plans to expand the Honor brand, including bringing regional version to the U.S. in 2016, and a press event is planned for CES next month.
