Honor 7, the latest flagship from Huawei's sub-brand, is now getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India.

The update will be available for all Honor 7 users who register for the OTA update by providing their device's IMEI number and current software version. The company says that the OTA update will reach their device in some 24 to 48 hours from the time of registration. You can find the device version number in Settings -> About Phone (For example, PLK-UL00C675B170) and the 16-digit IMEI number by dialling *#06#.

Honor 7 features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, and is powered by a 64-bit Kirin 935 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM. The device packs in a 20MP shooter on the back with an F2.0 aperture, a 6-lens module and sapphire glass for extra protection as well as an 8MP front camera with LED flash.

  • Lol. Registration to get an update. Huawei is weird.
If it's kinda like a soak test, not so weird then lol
  • They did this a few weeks back for the UK - I registered and never heard/received anything! Would be interested to find anyone who actually got the update?
  • my UK honor 7 is updating at time of post to Marshmallow, I had to manual check for update after I registered.
  • Snap! How bizarre - checked again last night and there it was, waiting, all 1.2GB of it. Loving how it looks and it's new tricks. the most simple thing has made me happy - the black navigation has gone! The icons have become far nicer to look at. The phone is an amazing piece of tech anyway but with the update, it all seems polished and fluid - not that it was bad before
  • That's great to hear.
Does it solve the black text on black background bug in the notification center for some Google apps?
Also what do you mean by "the black navigation has gone!"?
  • Heard a lot about updates for the Huawei's devices lately. Seems like they are uppin their game. Posted via the Android Central App
  • wasnt there a post here from an obnoxious american? was it deleted? lol
  • Why not say obnoxious *****. Why put American behind it. It has nothing to do with the guys comment Posted via the Android Central App
  • because he acted like the US is all the world should care about. he is an obnoxious american.
  • he did basically say "screw others, put priorities in USA" what he doesn't realize is that his LG G4 pushed MM update long ago, just not from his carrier AT&T. contradicting his own statement and ignorance got labeled "obnoxious" and I totally agree. still think "obnoxious american" is too nice. I am an american and I was embarrassed by his foolishness.
  • Seems like someone reported him. I was rather enjoying his whining but oh well. Posted via the Android Central App
