Yesterday, October 5, Google began rolling out the latest monthly security patch for October 2020. As per usual, it's a fairly small update containing a myriad of bug and vulnerability fixes.

In addition to Pixel owners getting the update, it also made its way to Galaxy S20 and Note 20 users that same day. Even if security patches aren't the most exciting thing in the world, we're always happy to see more people being able to keep their phones as safe as can be in a timely manner.

Taking a look through the AC forums, a lot of our members are already rocking the update.

Got October Security patch for AT&T unlocked Note 20 Ultra this morning.

October update is out. I'm on unlocked model on Verizon.

Just got mine on a locked TMO note 20.

I just got the September one last week on carrier locked AT&T. I should get this one sometime in November I'd guess.

What about you? Did you get the October 2020 security patch?

  • I usually get security patches in the last week of the month. Samsung has definitely improved in the regularity of delivering them
  • I download factory images and then use magisk canary to patch boot.img and root android 11...
  • Yesterday P2XL.
  • My unlocked US S10+ received the October patch on yesterday.
  • My Verizon Note10+ usually gets the update near the late middle/end of the month. So I'm figuring about Halloween week or shortly before then.
