AT&T pushes 'Stagefright' update to LG G4

The LG G4 on AT&T is next up for a fix for the "Stagefright" exploit. An over-the-air update is now pushing out to the smartphone with "device security improvements" listed as the only change.

According to AT&T's support page, the update clocks in at 46.7MB large. After you snag the download and install the update, you should be on software version number H81010l and Android 5.1 build LMY47D. The update should be pushing out now, but it may take a day or two to show up for your device. If you'd like to check manually, you can do so from your phone's settings menu.

Thanks to Trutz for the tip!

  • What about Certifi-gate? LG phones are the most vulnerable.
  • Wonder when this comes out for sprint Posted via the Android Central App
  • Damn, was hoping there would also be a freaking fix for the missed taps and all the damn lag. Seriously ruined the experience of an otherwise great phone. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Maybe I'm nuts, but the update made it feel smoother Posted via the Android Central App
  • Well I guess I'll just hold complete judgement for now. But its so bad that most cases where a missed tap occurs, I have to tap up to 3 or 4 times. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Same here, it's really laggy at times.... Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yeah besides the missed taps, lag is always there. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Where are you seeing lag? Outside of the stock messages app I haven't found any lag ( the messenger app is horrendous) Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yah the missed taps, especially in Swiftkey, are bummer. I still have my G3 and I won my G4, so 1) I can easily switch back and 2) I'm not out any cash. But still. Here's hoping more updates are on the way.
