Sprint Optimus G

LG Optimus G users on Sprint have something to cheer about today, as the Jelly Bean OTA update has just started its rollout. As newer versions of the Optimus G have started to come out of the box with Jelly Bean on board, it's good to see Sprint keeping up with the update on the original devices that came first. Users will get the whole suite of Jelly Bean updates like Google Now, Project Butter and resizable widgets with this update. The stock ICS browser is being replaced by Google Chrome as well.

The new software is based on Android 4.1.2 -- version LS970ZVA LS970ZVB -- and will be rolling out in phases starting today. Seeing the update on your device yet? Head to the Sprint Optimus G forums and let other members know what your experience has been with the update.

Strange that the one pushed two weeks ago and the one who's source code was posted on LG's website was version ZVB...

cmandd says:

I looked at the internal update documents tonight, it is ZVB, the community post is a typo.

All these phones that are getting the Jellybean update is making me mad. The HTC One S on T-Mobile still didn't release the update yet. This is just insane!

return_0 says:

I agree that the One S should have the update by now, but I don't think it's insane that a phone released in November 2012 gets the update before a phone released in March/April 2012.

2 weeks in a row with no podcast, and no heads up about it. Thanks AC!

Phil explained on G+ that he was still under the weather and would make good next week.

Someone doesn't read the very place where they would normally announce no podcast.

olorin says:

Ummm... the normal place for a website to announce something is on their website.

MARKNJ says:

What its out like 2 months ago

tim242 says:

The normal place they announce it is right here. They title it, "Heads up, no podcast tonight.". Not everybody is enslaved to social media.

Really glad to hear, I see the G for 100 bucks all the time, really great phone for that price.
