Droid Mini

The smallest of the new Motorola Droids, the Droid Mini packs everything a smartphone user could want into a 4.3-inch HD display. The same Kevlar and Gorilla Glass construction as it's bigger siblings make it pretty tough, and the software enhancements like Droid Zap and the new camera make it fun to use.

The same specs as the big boys? That's a true no compromise 'mini' !

Agreed!

TheDu9du says:

Aight! For me the only compromise would be getting on Verizon

PaulKinslow1 says:

Only 16gb storage and no micro sd expansion. That's a big compromise over the new 32gb Maxx or Razr M with 8gb + 32gb sd expansion.

Either these specs are wrong or the Verizon page is. Battery is 2130 mAh with a 28 hour life.

Ry says:

Two sources right now, Motorola and Verizon. Seems to be some conflicts.

KWKSLVR says:

Verizon also lists the Maxx's battery capacity incorrectly on their spec sheet. It shows being the same as the Ultra. I'm sure they'll correct it soon.

phositadc says:

The weight is also wrong on the Mini. Lists it being 4.94 oz, which is heavier than the Ultra. That can't possibly be correct.

Guys,Something strange is happening to me. I don't know if i can justify 100 more dollars for a 5 inch screen when the specs are the same.I don't know what is happening..lol. all jokes aside--this looks to be a dang good phone. With my upgrade due on the 14th i have a tough decision to make.Even more so if the one gets launched on Verizon before then.

I'm glad Motorola and Samsung are offering "mini" versions of their newest phones. As much as I like my Razr Maxx, it's near-impossible to use one-handed. Inconvenient when the phone rings when I'm driving, especially.. Not everyone needs a huge screen- I own a tablet for that.

jedah says:

What's the resolution? 720 hopefully? This is shaping up to be the best of the Minis. Now if only it were available in some form on T-Mobile.

RaiderWill says:

I agree with you 100%

Nice to see a smaller phone with great specs. Some don't want the huge 5 inchers.

TurboFool says:

Too bad they're not making this in unlocked, GSM form. Or perhaps a Moto X Mini that follows this same trend. My girlfriend really wants a smaller phone, and this looks great. But we're definitely not doing Verizon.

neonworm says:

Agreed. They should have an unlocked version to use on other carriers.

Ry says:

We don't know that yet. This was a Verizon event. Of course they wouldn't announce anything non-Verizon.

goliatham says:

I'm really disappointed with the SDCard. My bionic also has 16gb onboard, and it's not enough (audiobooks & mp3s).
Now I have to decide if I want to pay $200 extra, and get a bigger phone just for the the extra storage (though the battery will be nice too).

gamoses says:

if it had the oled screen and wireless charging, I'd be all over it :-(
wish more phones would fit in a woman's pocket, but not at the expense of other features

It does have wireless charging. Bummer about the display though. My RAZR M's AMOLED destroys my 8X's LCD. If it looks as good as the iPhone's TFT it won't be too horrible I guess.

The're is no need to unlock Verizon 4g phones as they are not locked. Any sim card in the world will work. Unlike Sprint, Verizon doesnt carrier lock their phones. Also check out the new Verizon Edge program. A payment plan with 6 month upgrades on phones.

Susan Gable says:

My mini went haywire..took to Verizon store..only way to fix was to reset to factory settings....lost all contacts, photos n videos. What's the point of backup etc. If all is now lost. No way to retrieve I guess. Really sad.
