LG Lucid 3 now available from Verizon

Verizon’s introducing an entry-level handset today called the LG Lucid 3. For $299.99 off-contract (free if you sign up for one), you get a 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The last Lucid handset left us impressed with the bang-for-buck value, despite several shortcomings. Odds are we can expect more of that with the LG Lucid 3.

It’s easy to get caught up in the latest and greatest, especially with phones like the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One (M8) and soon Sony Z2 and LG G3 flying around, but there’s always a market for those that can’t afford the top-of-the-line.

Anybody on a tight budget looking for a new phone? Do you think the LG Lucid 3 will cut it, or is there something else grabbing your eye, like, say, the Moto X? Parties interested in the LG Lucid 3 can hit up Verizon directly.

(Jcastag) nope, that was the small buttoned G2. This is Verizon's version of the G2 Mini.

Or it could be just the Lucid 3.

Slap a Verizon logo, put in a body that is cheap to make, sell it to uninformed people walking into Verizon store = Success for LG.

$299 of contract ain't bad. It's like buying an S3 from Cricket or Boost Mobile. Better coverage and less data, of course.

It's horrible

MarkSeven says:

Not bad except for the screen. 720p should've been the minumun after the Moto G.

Indeed

My fiancee has the original Lucid and it's holding up pretty well after 2 years. I almost wanted to tell her to get this, but she can spend the same cash and get a Moto X (which I have and love) that blows this Lucid 3 out of the water in every way. I don't know why the Moto X isn't flying off the shelves right now for the price it's at.

TheMimic12 says:

Eh, $50 more gives you a 16 GB moto x. That's a way better deal.
