Verizon LG G Pad 8.3

No price or availability just yet, but it's only a matter of time at this point

Evidence is mounting that Verizon customers will have a chance to pick up an LTE-enabled LG G Pad 8.3 in the near future. Following up on the device making its way through the FCC with Verizon-compatible LTE support, we now have renders of the tablet looking spiffy with a big Verizon logo on the front, another on the back and 4G LTE logos on the back and in the status bar.

Together with the announcement that it is now carrying a fully-certified Nexus 7 in its own stores, adding the G Pad 8.3 to Verizon's tablet lineup will go a long way to making the large-screen options a bit more enticing on the carrier. No pricing or release date on this one, but when these sorts of leaks come out there official announcement usually isn't far behind.

I think the headline "Verizon branding spotted with a little bit of LG G Pad 8.3" would have been more appropriate

Yup

We made that assessment with the G2, which was insanely heavily branded. This is just slightly better.

I'm sorry but that branding on the front.

Remember when you saw a Motorola smartphone and you liked it, but didn't buy it because it was only on Verizon?

There never was one until maybe the X. All the Droooooooooiiiiiddddddds had locked up bootloaders and really kinda sucked IMHO. I know that they were very popular but they just were not for me.

I must be the only one on AC that doesn't care about the logo on my phone.

It doesn't bother me, either. However, Verizon does seem to take things a bit far with the logos.

And I just noticed that my current phone doesn't have a carrier logo, which is a first for me.

Ravage790 says:

It really is stupid to complain about Verizon and its branding. Who cares, your supposed to look at the screen anyways.

eahinrichsen says:

That's exactly the problem. The logo on the front is a visual distraction from the screen, and it's a pain in the ass. It's annoying enough when the OEM puts its logo on the front, but the carrier logo is absurd.

I don't give half a shit about branding on the back.

worknman says:

I say the same thing about the bezel on the new Nexus 7 :P

eahinrichsen says:

I would be a lot more accepting of Verizon branding if their logo weren't so damn ugly. The giant V is just such an eyesore. At least the AT&T logo is easier on the eyes.

NoNexus says:

Yeah I kinda like the 4GLTE logo, but the verizon one is ugly. I would prefer the death star on my phone. My Note has no branding on it, but looking at the SGS3 sprint colored it so that it kinda blends in.

MarkSeven says:

Exactly. That logo is ugly as shit.
