Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots

Halfbrick Studios today announced that Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots will be avilable as Amazon's free app of the day on Nov. 28. (It'll be 99 cents after the promotion.) It's largely the same Fruit Ninja we've come to know and love, but it's got the furball from the last couple of Shreck movies incorporated. Your kids are gonna love it.

We've got more screen shots and promo video after the break.

The kids will love it? What about me?
Am I the only adult that loves the furball character?

SuperTongue says:

So... is this the reason why the Android version of the regular Fruit Ninja still is lacking a ton of features and unlocks from the iOS version?

This looks great, and I'll sadly buy it, but why can't devs just update their apps on both platforms =/

or, you know, you could pick it up as the free app of the day on monday...js

Some say Amazon is bad for Android...

I say FREE PUSS N' BOOTS!!

PoLaRBe4r says:

Baaahhh, Amazon sucks the big one if you live anywhere else than in the USA. No app store for us canucks, Eff amazon.

Enjoy you free health care Cannuck and your confirmed Galaxy Nexus. :)

Cyrilmak says:

The health care in Canada sucks. I've got friends there that have major issues because of their socialistic health care system.

Back on topic.

Hopefully there will be a Tegra HD version.

Tablet version?

bolski says:

I don't see it in the Amazon App Store. The free app of the day is "Dabble HD" not this.

Is this for tablets only? Or, is this a mistake because it IS available for free on the iTunes app store.

lies ,all lies !!!

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I was actually kinda looking forward to this (and not *just* because I thought my 4-year-old would love it). But, sadly, not only is it not the free-app-of-the-day, a brief search confirms that it doesn't even exist on the Amazon App Store :(

I'm guessing this is just a miscommunication, since someone else said that it's free on iTunes today. I'd even gladly pay the $.99, Halfbrick. I'm just going to go drown my sorrows in some leche....

scottmporter says:

As noted above - it is not the Free App of the Day. Time for AC to investigate or update.

first thing this morning I loaded the amazon app store and was surprised to find that this wasn't the free app of the day. I'm glad I'm not crazy because I couldn't find it at all and I thought I must not have read the article correctly. Maybe there were some issues and it will show up tomorrow?

xeroslash says:

It's funny because I suddenly remembered there was something important coming today for Free App of the Day on Amazon, but I couldn't specifically remember what it was. When I went in and saw "Dabble HD" I thought...uh...this can't be what AC told me make note of and download....could it?

I went back and searched here and see this Fruit Ninja and BAM! I was suddenly saddened that we've all been had.

Hopefully someone *cough*phil*cough* can clear things up before the day is through.

Phandroid posted the same thing. I looked for the press release on this and couldn't find it anywhere. So what is up? Did Halfbrick mess this up? Was it just for ios?

Hand_O_Death says:

I was also bummed. I am thinking that this was a iPhone only app. Have not seen any official android app postings from them (yet)

dragonol2 says:

So will there be an update to this article? Does anyone have any clue as to what has happened to the new version of Fruit Ninja? I was really looking forward to this!

joshrocker says:

for the record, unless it was for only a very short window the app wasn't free on IOS either. It was .99 cents for the iphone and $2 for the ipad. I came back to check but it doesn't look like there's been any update to this article yet.

geoff2k says:

Per their twitter feed, they ran into some technical snags and are now hoping for a "late Dec release".

joshrocker says:

Thanks for the update! I'll look forward to it later in the year then. I wonder how they were able to get the IOS version ready to ship but the android version will take an extra month at the last minute?

imex99 says:

What happened to puss n boots?

LinkinPrime says:

What's the hold up on this? I was really looking forward to playing it as was my son.
