Verizon's summer 2010 catalog has been leaked out, and yes, that's a picture of the upcoming Motorola Droid 2 you see above. Also included are the Droid X, the HTC Droid Incredible, and the LG Ally -- phones we're already familiar with. What's glaringly absent is the Samsung Fascinate, but don't read too much into that just yet. Listed specs for the Droid 2 are pretty much what was already speculated -- 512MB RAM/8 GB ROM, 1 GHz processor, EVDO rev A, 5 megapixel camera, and an 8GB microSD card included. droid x and 2 is looking sexy!
At least I won't feel too jealous over the Droid 2 compared to my original Droid. Can't say the same compared to the X.
Although 8 gigs of App Storage is INSANE! You won't need that much unless you root and use MetaMorph extensively. And good luck trying to root the Droid 2. Probably has the same "TripWire"-type security as the Droid X that bricks your phone if it detects a different bootloader than what comes with it.

I wonder when European versions of these Droids will start hitting ... actually scratch that, it will only end up costing me lots of money ;).
If the rumors about using an e-fuse as a permanent deterrent to modification are true, I don't see these hitting Europe ever.

droid 2 will be the same as droid 1. really no point in getting one
If you have the Droid one and decide to get this or the x. I would keep my Droid around especially with the locked down bootloaders

It says the Droid X is coming soon, but Verizon has confirmed a July 15 launch.
Unless this comes out by tomorrow, it's incorrect.

BTW, I just noticed... LOL at them listing the Kin as a smartphone! It's a featurephone at best, and there's a reason Microsoft has given up on it.
well, you need the smartphone data plan, so i suppose it can be listed as a smartphone. although anyone that is remotely informed will say otherwise.

Man , this complete blanketing of info about this phone on VZW is becoming utterly maddening. I know Phil said not to read too much into it, but it's hard not to when there is literally ZERO information publicly available about a VZW launch, pricing, etc, etc.
Yeah, but it's expected too. VzW wants to pump their Droid line from Moto for a while, so you won't see any mention of the FasTcinate for a while I think.
