The OnePlus 2 is now fully announced, but you may have missed some of the final #hypetrain late at night when OnePlus finally took the wraps off of its latest phone. The OnePlus 2 was officially unveiled via a VR experience taking you through the OnePlus offices, but you don't need to go relive that experience to take in all of the information about the so-called "2016 flagship killer." Android Central has you covered.
OnePlus did put out a more "standard" announcement, hitting the high points in a press release — all of the big spec numbers, pricing set at $389 for the 4GB RAM / 64GB storage model, and availability hitting August 11, so long as you have an invite.
We had a chance to use the OnePlus 2 for a bit the day of the launch, and came away impressed by what it has to offer. Of course everyone will point out a few things missing — like NFC — but there's so much more to this phone than a couple line items on a spec sheet. Expect more from us on the OnePlus 2 in the coming days and weeks.
We managed to take as many pictures as humanly possible of the OnePlus 2 — in all five StyleSwap covers — so you can get a good idea of what it looks like. Feeling it in your hands is the next step (we give you a primer in the video above), and we have to say it doesn't disappoint in that arena either.
There's a lot to talk about with the OnePlus 2, and you can bet our forums are the place to be to discuss all of the hot topics. Whether you're waiting for your invite, on the fence or just want to get together with other buyers, that's the place to be. Expect to see us in there once we have the phone for a longer period of time.
And this is just the start — we'll have a lot more to say about the OnePlus 2 as we spend more time with it, so stay tuned.
