Photo Contest Prizes

Two lucky winners have some great devices on the way to their houses

It's been a few weeks since we announced that we were running a very special "Back to school" photo contest with some big prizes, and now it's time to announce the winners. After a few weeks, we had hundreds of entries across 22 pages in a forums post full of great pictures, but when it came down to it we had to pick just two.

Come take a look at the two winning pictures after the break.

Winner of a Chromebook Pixel and Google Play edition Galaxy S4: weightycurve!

Weekly Photo Contest entry

We're not sure if the shirt and paint color matching was intentional, but we love the irregular composition and color palette of this shot. Great entry.

Winner of a Chromebook Pixel and Google Play edition HTC One: PreJason!

Weekly Photo Contest entry

Nothing says "back to school" quite like kids with their uniforms and backpacks on getting ready for that first day. Adding to the content is a great, clear picture quality. We really enjoyed this shot.

Weightycurve and PreJason, keep an eye on your mailboxes and doorsteps for your devices, they will on their way in short order.

We want to say thanks to everyone else who entered, and be on the lookout for even more great photo contests and giveaways on Android Central in the future. We love giving away so much great stuff to our readers.

How did I know they were going to screw up and not pick me? Congrats guys!

Congrats. Enjoy the devices and treat them well. Thanks to Android Central for making things like this possible. We should all be grateful to even have the chances at winning these items.

You sir/miss deserve to win one of these, just because your grateful. Don't see much of this kind of gratitude these days. I hope to see your name on one of these soon :)

Ah! Dude who won goes to my tiny school here in Marietta, GA. I've walked over that sign about a million times myself. SPSU FTW!

Good pics, my favorites were by onedollarinmywallet (pg 4), schaefmom (pg 16), and randallmeek (pg 18). Subjective art.

jeez i need to have me some kids and maybe there's a chance on winning a photo contest on the net.

Well, I've gone back and forth on this but I'm gonna say what a lot of other people are probably thinking....

With absolutely no disrespect to the winner's photographs, and certainly no disrespect to the guys at AC, (because they ARE super generous and don't HAVE to give away such cool stuff), I am sure many people are a little surprised at the results of this contest. I know art is in the eye of the beholder but the stakes were pretty high for this one and a lot of people really put some careful thought and effort into their shots. I am really not trying to sound ungrateful at a FREE chance to win hundreds of dollars in technology gear so please don't get me wrong. Maybe future contests could be voted on by the fans? (Or at least contests with so much riding on the line?) I think people treated this one as a real chance to show off their artistic side, creativity and camera skills. I think many of them may feel a little shorted after the results were announced. Anyway, still love the site and will continue to read and enter future contests. You guys really do rock.

Congrats to the winners on the sweet prizes. You've got a lot of Android fans envying you today!

I do not think voting would work here. Sounds good in theory, but not functional in reality. How many people would create endless accounts from different IP's to vote?

Well put. I'm thankful the images chosen at least fit the theme, but the choices surprised me as well. Your shot was one of a select few that I thought captured the theme, had some planning put into the shot and were well executed. Well done and keep up the good work.

As an aside, PreJason's shot on this post looks criminally blurry, but if you click through to the link below, it is much crisper. I wonder why reposting it mangled it that badly?

Congrats to the winners! Lucky chaps!

Have to admit that I was also a little bit surprised with the winners...

I really thought that I had a good chance of winning especially with my first entry (post 151)! :(

Nonetheless, a huge thanks to androidcentral for providing these great competitions! :)

Congratulations winners! Very nice pictures, the lack of editing is a real clincher here, true talent in photography :)
