Amazon has started taking pre-orders for the Razer Forge Android TV-based set-top box, combined with a game controller for $149.99.

Razer officially announced the Forge set-top box at CES 2015 in January but since then the company has been quiet about its specific launch plans for the device. Amazon's listing shows that it will start shipping the Razer Forge with the game controller on May 1. Razer previously announced plans to sell the Android TV box without a controller for just $99.

We got to see an early version of the Razer Forge at CES and were impressed at the time with its hardware, which includes an Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Razer also announced plans to release its Cortex app for Windows that would allow the Forge to stream games from a local PC to the set-top box on a big screen TV.
