ZTE unveils new logo as part of its new business strategy

Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE has unveiled a new logo today as part of a rebranding of sorts. The logo features a rounder, more streamlined design that is just part of a broader effort by the company to implement its new "M-ICT" (Media Information Communications Technology) strategy aimed at driving innovation and growing its market potential.

The new strategy also brings a philosophy that ZTE has dubbed "Cool - Green - Open" (CGE) which aims to deliver innovative, sustainable technologies in an open, collaborative manner.

Under its new strategy, ZTE hopes to open up its market presence:

"ZTE is evolving our operations in line with our broader M-ICT vision, which will help us deliver higher value to customers and drive the growth of our business," said Shi Lirong, President and Chief Executive Officer of ZTE Corporation. "Our new M-ICT strategy will open up a total addressable market of USD 3.5 trillion for ZTE, far bigger than the USD 350 billion telecommunications market."

  • Bunch of haters here, I have a ZTE Nubia Z7 mini, ain't that bad, to me way much better than crapSung and some LG's out there.
And it was cheap as peanuts, wanted an Android to do some testing with apps and stuff.
  • I really wish AC wouldn't do these types of post...You always see the worst of people with these types of post.
  • I actually own a ZTE ZMAX, and it is perfectly fine. Battery lasts two days without a charge--if I forget to plug it in at night, and it has total functionality. I don't have time to play games on my Android phone, so I don't need a robust graphics solution. The 720 screen plays 720p movies perfectly, and the 5.7 inch screen is huge. Email, internet, Mobile hot-spot, Google Nav, everything I need is there. And I have it in a $5 TPU case off ebay. What's not to like?
  • I hear ya. The phone is doing what its supposed to do. The problem is the people who look down on tech like ZTE are blinded to the fact people will pick what works for them. The ZMAX is a device that works and gets the job done. Just because its not HTC, Sony, LG or Sammy doesn't mean its a bad device.
  • Rounded edge 80s font. Very disappointing.
