Pebble Time pre-orders begin June 22 for non-backers

As shipments start to go out to early backers of the Pebble Time, Pebble has announced that regular pre-orders for the wearable will begin on June 22, allowing non-backers to get in on the action. In addition to the pre-order announcement, Pebble also took the opportunity to talk about some forthcoming features that the team is working on for future updates, including:

  • Voice Notes app
  • Stocks app
  • Weather app
  • Increased international language support (e.g. Chinese, French, German, and Spanish)

Finally, Pebble confirms that shipments are already on their way to early backers, as promised, and even highlighted some partner apps that Pebble Time users will be able to take advantage of, such as Uber, ESPN, and TripAdvisor.

  • Man, this thing just looks like a toy. I like the battery life on it but that's about it. The pebble steel looks better. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Agreed, Pebble Time Steel took a step back in design imo. Posted via the Android Central App
  • True. My first gen I can still get away with wearing a suit :) it's all black and with a regular watchface looks only geeky , but this one is like a kids toy. I wouldn't wear it if was sold at 50$
360 or Pebble 1st gen is what is appealing to me. 360 is definitely the most versatile - can fit anything you wear - causal, sport or dressy. Pebble I have maybe, but with that strong geek accent :) via AC App on VZW Moto X DE/N7
  • Yeah I'm pretty disappointed with how this looks, I'm sticking with my pebble steel for the foreseeable future Posted via the Android Central App
  • This doesn't bring anything to the table that I need that my original pebble doesn't have. Exercise app integration, notifications, water resistance, and music control are the most useful for me. So I'll stick with my original for now. Having said that, I don't mind the all black one so much.
  • I'm sticking with my Steel until Pebble releases a better looking Time or an Android Wear device appears with 5 day battery life. Battery life is far more important to me than hi-res touch screens with million color displays. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I actually like the new Pebble Time more than the original Pebble. It will be a nice option to switch off with my Moto 360. I've always had multiple watches and now I'll have multiple smart watches. Posted via Android Central App
  • I never liked the original Pebble, however I think the Pebble Time Steel looks pretty awesome, and I'm impressed with the battery life potential. After I am able to see it in person in a retail store, I might end up switching to this over my current Moto 360, unless in the interim Motorola wows me with a new smaller, thinner, flat-tire-less design of a second generation Moto 360.
  • Hey mom hey dad can I get this Dick Tracy watch for Christmas, so I can play spy with my 10 year old friends? Posted via the Android Central App
