Motorola Camera update brings new timer options, wrist flick gesture for camera switching [update]

Update: It looks like the Motorola Gallery app has gotten some Material love as well. Article is updated accordingly.
Motorola's Camera and Gallery apps for its Moto X, Moto G, and Droid devices snagged an update today. While the Camera update is rather minor, it did nab a couple of new features including new 3-second and 10-second options for the timer, and the double wrist flick gesture now also handles switching between the front and back cameras. On the Gallery side of things, nothing has really changed other than a fresh coat of Material, but it does look very nice.
If you want to check these out for yourself, be sure to hit up the Google Play link above for the camera, and you can grab the Gallery update here (opens in new tab). Also, you can check out a gallery of the changes below.
Thanks to Jonathan for the tip!

You're right but the turbo????..... Posted via the Android Central App Edit: this is for x and g so nm

I haven't played with a turbo at all. Unless the rumored 'all carrier' one becomes a reality I doubt work will get it. Posted by my soon to be retired Note 3

I have the 13 x. You clearly have the 14. It's not to great of a shooter, brother. FACT. great phone though Posted via the Android Central App

Either the 13 or the 14 fall behind those I listed. The moto x, either year, is a good phone. It just has an average (at best) camera. Nothing wrong with that Posted by my soon to be retired Note 3

The Moto cameras are so frustrating. I really like the design of the app, and the twist-to-launch feature is awesome. Shame about the actual images, though...

Just curious what you're running right now - still a Note 3? (if I remember right... which is improbable!)

I like the new Lollipop flavor of the Moto apps. The twist feature to switch cameras doesn't work on my Moto G though ): Posted from my Motorola Moto G.

Twist to switch camera isn't working on my Moto G either. P.S: My wrist hurts... Posted via Android Central App

Mine too. But that's because of incognito browsing. Posted from my Motorola Moto G.

I don't see the way to change the aspect ratio... Posted via the Android Central App from my Moto Droid Maxx

Swipe from left. The "L" button right above the shutter sound. Posted from my Motorola Moto G.

That's not an option on the 13 Moto X Posted via the Android Central App

Maybe the Moto X can't change aspect ratio? I have no idea because I've never owned one. Posted from my Motorola Moto G.

FYI. I know you have a Droid Maxx, but it doesn't exist on the original Moto X.

The double twist camera activation (from lock) is the cats pajamas. It would be impossible to ever go back to anything else. Posted via Android Central App

Im going to check my moto x now. Hopefully they succeed the choppiness of the FFC Posted via the Android Central App

Which Moto G....does this includes the LTE one? Posted via Android Central App

I really wish they made an option so I can save my Turbo pictures at 10 or 13 mpix. 22 is too big of a file. Its going to eat my Google Plus storage up.

A year plus and still no adjustable video resolution or photosphere... So it is Once again disabled. The one thing the moto camera app has that is desirable is the shake to activate. Other Than that, the Google camera app is superior in every way.
I need to have the simple video resolution adjustments and the amazing multiple panorama modes, including photo sphere from the Google app..
What Good is the high deff only video setting? A 10 second video is HUGE! To huge to share by gmail and they quickly eat up the limited storage of the phone. A recent five minute concert video was almost 1GB!
Thanks Motorola -
Wow the best looking camera app. Posted via Android Central App

The self timer degrades over time. Now it takes pics on its own as soon as I set the phone down, though still pretends to count down. Lame.
