HTC Legend brings AMOLED, Snapdragon goodness

Welcome back, to the land of sunshine and smartphone renders. Today we have another look at the HTC "Legend," which we first saw in that massive HTC leak a week ago. Now we have a much better render to go along with it, courtesy of And here are the specs, to refresh:

  • Size: 112x56.3.11.5mm
  • 3.2-inch HVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen.
  • 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash.
  • 512MB flash, 256MB RAM.
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon processor at 600MHz.
  • 1300mAh battery.
  • MicroSD.
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR.
  • aGPS.
  • G-sensor.
  • FM radio.
  • Optical mouse.
  • 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • MicroUSB for charging/sunc.
  • People II/Footprints II.

A few things of note here. One: AMOLED screen. Yum. Another: The trackball's given way to an optical mouse, which means no moving parts to break down. The Snapdragon processor is only at 600MHz, compared to the full 1GHz we're seeing elsewhere. But if it can keep up, then we can overlook the underclocking.

  • Is that a Jay Leno chin I see at the bottom?
  • X10 is going to cost an arm and a leg Nexus surely will although sources say it would be $200 unlocked of which is near impossible but if it proves otherwise then I might just sell another piece. Legend Preview: Really a legend
  • I'd probably take this over the Bravo/Passion based on looks and size alone.
  • @cj100570 Sure is a chin. Does this mean we have our successor to the Hero? I'll bet yes....also bet it's to cool for us CDMA kids.
  • yes it is lol
  • Hey ppl i have mad the switch to the HTC Hero From Pre and i am lovin the android
  • hopefully running os 2.1 or higher maybe and a new revision of sense ui with some smoothnss and speed...
  • Where did you see this phone has a snapdragon proc? All the other sites leaking info about this phone have said its an upgraded version of the Qualcom 72XX proc that is already in the G1, Hero, etc (snapdragon has an 82XX designator)
  • what i would love to see on that device is a lager screen. make the whole dark part the screen and place the buttons left and right beside the "trackball". 3.5-inch or more...pls
  • on what? T-mobile, don't expect another hero type of phone on sprint again, android yes but no more chin type phones for you guys
  • Hero...Legend...I'm waiting for the HTC Conqueror to come out :). In all seriousness, if the Nexus One doesn't come out for use on Sprint, this will probably be my next phone, replacing my HTC Hero.
