Electronic billboard reminds Floridians not to 'Poké and Drive'

Clear Channel wants to remind you not to play Pokémon Go while driving. The company has taken out space on an electronic billboard in Jacksonville, Florida telling people not to play the popular mobile game while they drive.

As you can see, the PSA changes, saying "Pidgey can wait" or "the Poké Stop can wait." It's certainly a clever way to get someone's attention.

If you're really enjoying Pokémon Go, that's great, but remember to practice some common sense. Don't dart out into streets chasing a Squirtle, or walk into people pursuing an Electrode. And certainly don't play the game and drive, because that's a very good way to get yourself or someone else hurt.

Thanks to Alemuit for the tip!

  • Arizona has been doing this on highway signs for a few days now. Sad that we have to come to this.
  • It's common sense so it needs to be said. Like why you shouldn't go down a dark alley chasing a Pokemon, or break into a closed-off restricted area like the Arlington National Cemetery or watch where you're walking. Maybe Metro Trains should launch a "Dumb Ways to Die 3: PoGo Edition!"
  • It is truly sad people need to be reminded not to use their phones while they are driving.
  • What I live, people take turns onto streets were kids play looking down at their phones. No cool beans. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Same thing in Wisconsin.
  • About to mention that myself.
  • Lol some headlines posted via the Pokémon Central app

  • Just take this game off the App Store and google Play already. I already see so many morons as it is heads down looking at their freaking phones while driving. Facebook and instagram can wait!!

  • Can you catch a Pokémon while having relations with your spouse? Lol Posted via the Android Central App
  • No, you can not, the spouse can wait. also, she is not necessary. Pokemon on the other hand is absolutely necessary for your life, In fact, it's the only thing more important than Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. Which are already more important than your job, if you have to risk getting yourself and others killed in a car accident, so be it. You were playing Pokemon, it's justified. • If you can, you are doing it wrong.
  • Lmao.. no the spouse will most definitely not let you have relations if you play pokemon.. you might have to catch them all but you will note be catching any loving if you do.. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Wow is this it? It has come down to this? Sad times.
  • Like having a big billboard is going to do any good... The ones doing this ain't paying any attention... Same for the ones saying not to text and drive.. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yeah, it's not like they are looking up to see it anyways. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I Phoenix the highway message boards say "Pokémon go is a no go while driving". Posted via the Android Central App
  • Lol I've seen this today, didn't think jax would reach AC. I've seen people poke drive around that's just crazy Posted via the Android Central App
  • Well, I've seen someone drive straight into a tree thanks to PoGO. Let's not forget that one person actually microwaved his phone (looks like an S7 edge) because he found a rather obvious hoax on how to farm eggs and actually did it. Oh, and some are taping their phones to ceiling fans...
  • Is Pokémon Go really that serious? Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yes yes it is.. lol damn addictive... Posted via the Android Central App
  • Sounds like bedroom talk Posted via the Android Central App
  • The app devs can just code the game to pause if the GPS detects a faster speed than a human can run. It will remain paused until you slow down. This would render the game unplayable while driving. Easy fix, no billboard needed.
  • Just about to post this until i read your comment! +9
  • It looks like "alcohol" is really jealous. It seems "Pokemon" may cause more accidents in USA than drunk drivers do. Moronic behaviour. Adegbenro Agoro. Galaxy Note 4.
  • Could people get any dumber?
  • This world is circling the drain, really! We had to use a sign for this REALLY!!!!!! UFB Posted via the Android Central App
