In an interview with Wccftech, CD Projekt RED's Alvin Liu discussed a few gameplay features making their way to Cyberpunk 2077, one of which is a dynamic weather system like that which was seen in The Witcher 3 and has become increasingly common in AAA games on the market today.

Yeah, we've got acid rain as well. Night City is a very polluted city and we're also exploring that kind of stuff, pollution and global warming and everything.

He further went on to say that NPCs will react accordingly to these hazards as they did in The Witcher 3, and that NPCs will have their own daily routines to make the game that much more immersive.

Generally, we're trying to make the NPCs very believable, we want it to feel like this is a world where people actually live in, which would make players want to spend time in the world as well...If you followed someone for fifteen hours, you might see the same thing repeated a few times. But we're trying to make them do interesting stuff. Again, I think the best comparison would be Novigrad from The Witcher 3.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases on April 16, 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. You can actually play it soon! I bet you'd never thought you'd read that sentence.

  • Wow, are you seriously? First, Halo is Rank 8 and Spiderman lower because Sony has a lot more games^^.
    Second: PSN alone is worthy Xbox + Nintendo combined, why? Because exclusives. Exclusives > you buy console > you buy the third party games there. Got it? The 30% Sony gets of every third party games made the PlayStation to the most successful gaming brand ever. And why? Because exclusives let you buy PlayStation and then the third party there. The gamepass is good but not a system seller. 48% sales down of the Xbox one vs 33% of the Ps4 for 2019. why both are suffering - is clearly, next gen is coming. But 15% difference is huge. And don’t forget, this 15% are ignoring the fact that in case of Sony they mean multiple millions and in Microsoft’s case multiple 100k. Exclusives are everything. Exclusives are the reason why Sony won every generation against Microsoft. Remember how bad Ps3 started and how they ended? Just because exclusives. Ps2? DVD and...exclusives.
    Exclusives are the key to sell consoles and then third party games there. The gamepass is just an answer to Sony’s impressive first party lineup, nothing more. Where you can play a lot Ps4 games next gen with backwards com. you will play again 360 games next gen with Microsofts backwards com. because they had nothing impressive this gen. And let us don’t forget how impressive the PsNow lineup will become next gen with all the Ps4 games of this gen. Compared to Microsoft third party nonsense. Games like GTA 5 are once every 10 years games. Using this game as an example is a joke. And guess who made the most money out of it next to Take2? Sony because people bought the game mostly there... why? Because exclusives let them buy the Ps4 and then Gta5 there. Nintendo is different yes because it’s the biggest casual childfriendly brand. Polls have shown that mostly children are using the console. June’s NPD top 20 had 4x Nintendo games with Mario in it. This is not quality, this is milking nostalgia dry. They remember me hardcore on Disney’s police. No content for +18 or even +16 from first party studios. Of course you sell more games when you’re games can be bought from 0-99 old humans and not from 16 or 18 - 99. Big difference and Sony knows that. But they don’t care. They rather offer quality for a mature audience then quantity for everyone. Cheers.
