Android 2.3 Gingerbread now available for the Telus HTC Desire HD

A pleasant surprise has just popped up on my Telus HTC Desire HD -- Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The update itself comes in at 99.68MB and while it's not going to bring Sense 3.0 to the Desire HD it's still nice to see HTC keep their word and roll it out to customers. If you're rooted, or running a custom ROM you may need to return back to stock in order to get it up running but after that it's as simple as just checking for system updates under your settings menu. If you're looking for the manual download link, look below.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

  • Still no G2/Desire Z which makes me angry.
  • Hopefully the HTC Inspire 4G (the Desire HD's twin) will get Gingerbread loving soon.
  • You and me both!!!
  • I'm still waiting for Orange UK to release Gingerbread for my Desire HD. Knowing Orange they're probably taking so long because of the masses of crap being shoved in to the update.
  • Maybe this means GB will be released for the Thunderbolt soon then. Hopefully the rumors are true about it being released on the 30th will be true(fingers crossed).
  • My DHD is unlocked, unbranded and I'm still waiting... Not happy with HTC...
