Back when the device was announced it had no name. Now, it has a name and an FCC filing to go along with it. The Samsung Stealth V has hit the FCC carrying Verizon 4G LTE bands and just in case you all needed a run down of those specs once again, they are:

  • Android 2.2
  • Google Mobile services, including Google Search
    Google Maps and Gmail, YouTube
  • Brilliant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display
  • 1GHz application processor
  • Rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with LED flash
  • Front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera to support video chat capabilities
  • Samsung Social Hub and Media Hub.

Still no indication on a launch date other then Summer 2011 but it now appearing at the FCC could mean it'll show up sooner rather than later. [Wireless Goodness] Thanks, JRamone!

I wish it was a global device. Damn it . . . Verizon needs more Android global devices with GSM chips.

If you look at the top filing on this link, it looks like it will have inductive charging built in.

http://bit.ly/hT7sKE

It states, "We attest that the Wireless Charging receiver (battery inductive cover) can only be used with a transmitter (charging base) that is certified by the WPC (Wireless Power Consortium). The WPC is an international standard for compatible wireless charging stations. The WPC certification report is included in the filing in the Inductive Cover Technical Description."

Sounds good but I think I am not ever gonna get a Samsung device seeing how my friends run like crap and how long it takes Samsung to update.

Come on verizon what about this you promised everybody http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-fascinate-eb01-froyo-update huh?

Who will buy a single core processor phone on Verizon, while on the eve of dual cores being released on the network? Unless you want to use an upgrade, and then pay 699.99 a month later. If you are a techie, then what is the point? Wait, not everyone is a techie, so I guess it's okay. I guess they can trade in their Ally's for this device.

In the source of this article the specs are:

"The Stealth V rocks a 4.3” super AMOLED display powered by Samsung’s dual-core Orion processor. The phone is expected to take 1080p video with its 8MP camera. At CES, the device was running Android 2.2, although we’d suspect that an upgrade to Android 2.3 will be coming soon. Other features include HDMI out and a micro USB port."

Not sure which is right, but I'm hoping for dual-core!

looks like sprint gave up on android, huh?

rlbrooks says:

I was thinking the same thing. I am tired of hearing about all these new phones planned for Verizon or T-Mobile. Heck, soon even ALLTEL will have more Android Phone offerings than Sprint. This is getting a little frustrating.

I thought they couldn't come up with a worse name than Samsung 4G LTE Smartphone...and then they proved me wrong.

If Verizon will be getting this phone in the summer, then it doesn't look like they'll get the new Galaxy S II till fall at the earliest. Disappointing. :(

Specs sounds good but im still a little iffy on samsung. Im just gonna try n hold out for the bionic

jason821 says:

With the fantastic work that the developers have done on the fascinate, I wont hesistate to get this.

The name makes perfect sense because we didn't know anything about the name until now XD

Dave4321 says:

This phone should never have been made. Just give Verizon the Galaxy S II.
