Urbanspoon

For Motorola Droid and Nexus One: If you're looking for a quick way to figure out what's for dinner, there's Urbanspoon. Now in Version 1.0 (and free!) for Android, it's a simple dial-a-meal that lets you choose location, ethnicity and price. Or you can choose "shake" for a random selection.

Vote on your favorites, read and write reviews, find addresses and telephone numbers, all in one simple app. It even works with Android 2.0's voice features. It's a must-have for anyone who has to eat.

Scan the QR code here (or click on it in your Android browser) to download Urbanspoon.

More pics after the break.

ugh, another reason why the Hero needs to be updated :(
I loved this app on my iPod Touch. Mine got stolen, but my gf has hers. I'd like to be able to use the app anywhere, no while we're still at home twiddling our thumbs.

Yeah, why no 1.5 and 1.6 support?

I tried this App on my Blackberry and it was fairly good on that devise.. but not up to snuff. I would like to try it on my CLIQ but can't figure out how to scan the bar code above. Do you need special software to use the bar code?

you need 2.0, cliq runs on 1.5 for now.

w00h00! Love this app.

@chapaj It's a bit UI intensive and quite possibly 1.5/6 just can't handle it .. or they only want to develop for 2.x which if more did this it just might push HTC, SE and others to get off their collective ass and upgrade their phones to 2.x if they can run it.

"Scan the QR code here (or click on it in your Android browser) to download Urbanspoon."

I tried clicking the QR code in my Android browser to download, but it just brought up a picture of a camera with an x through it. Was able to scan and get from the market, but just thought I'd share the problem.

Love the app, helps with the "I dunno, what do you want for dinner?" question. Now if they could just roll this, Yelp and Open table all into one, you could really save some screen real estate.

Cheers,
Tim

scanning the QR code results in a message that there are no matches in Android Market for the search pname:com.urban spoon

Appears to be a great app that will come in handy. I'm always eating at the same places over and over again.

FYI, if you have a rooted phone running one of the 2.0/2.1 roms on your Dream/Magic/G1/MyTouch/Hero/Eris/etc. this should work. Works great on my G1 running BlueHaze 1.7

Looks like it doesn't work on 1.5 since it's not showing up in the market! *sigh*
