MyTouch 3G 1.2 with Froyo

T-Mobile has begun pushing Android 2.2 Froyo to users of the MyTouch 3G 1.2 Jack and the Fender LE edition. They had previously promised the update would begin on Jan. 12 but at least it is finally rolling out now. As a quick reminder, the update should be rolling out in waves, so not every user should be prompted to download it right away. Thanks to Vicken for the tip and pic!

Wasn't there a manual update available? Or was that not this? I saw something for updating manually on xda forums.

Glad to see they're pushing out 2.2.1 and not 2.0. Now, how long will it take to get 2.2.2 on these devices?

jdm4u says:

I doubt they will get 2.2.2 no point. Its already an old phone and doesn't even get the full 2.2 experience. No flash player, can't even do live wallpapers due to slow processor lol.

sword_chucks says:

Why is flashplayer so important to everyone? I would rather uninstall it.

Its crappy, not performed well, battery draining, and isnt fully functional. Screw adobe

El Jefe says:

Then uninstall it if you want, or just go into your browser settings & disable the Flash plug-in. You could also sell your phone & get an iPhone instead, because that is exactly what their Executives say to try to convince people that having the choice of running Flash is worse than them making that choice for you.

Either way...just because you don't want it doesn't mean others don't. Besides, I think your reasons are BS anyway because my Droid X browser got QUICKER & battery life INCREASED after I got 2.2

kinster02 says:

The flash player is important because many of us consider our smartphones as mini computers and we want the option to have that computer experience on our devices. If you don't like it or want it disable it... it's as simple as that.

Good for the people that own this phone, sure is nice to get an update. Its nice that T-mobile is taking care of their customers the right way. I waited forever to finally get 2.1 on my Hero, I recently switched to the epic because the Hero wasnt getting 2.2 and now I'm waiting for the Epic to get 2.2

This update has slowed my phone to a crall, 6 calls to customer service and all they want to do is try to get me to re-up a new contract and pay for a new phone. Horrible customer service, called HTC and they say they know its an issue and that they need more people to report the problem to them, if you have problems with it call them 866 449 8358. Much more polite and friendly than T-Mobile.
