Google exec says a 'buy button' is coming to search

Speaking at Code Conference today, Google's Chief Business Officer, Omid Kordestani, said that a buy button is "imminent" for ads in Google search. From Re/Code:

"There's going to be a buy button. It's going to be imminent," Kordestani said on stage at the Code Conference Wednesday.Kordestani described the product launch as a way to remove friction for users so they buy more things online. Some 90 percent of commerce is still offline, he noted.

As Kordestani notes, the addition of the buy button will ease the number of steps it takes for consumers to make a purchase after seeing an ad. The Google exec didn't provide any more in the way of details, but going by the choice of the word "imminent," it can't be too long before we start seeing a buy button pop up on ads in search results.
