A leaked press image of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 appears showing off all sides of the device

Ahead of an official announcement of Samsung's rumored Galaxy Tab S series, we now have what appears to be official press images of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It appears that Samsung is keeping the design language of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 consistent with the flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone and with the previously leaked Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet.

At this time, no other information is available for the tablet and the images were posted on to Twitter by @evleaks.

The main rumored difference between the Galaxy Tab S series and the recently unveiled Galaxy Tab 4 series earlier this year is that the Galaxy Tab S devices will utilize Samsung's AMOLED displays rather than a traditional LCD panel for the screen.

The rear of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 shows off a perforated faux leather texturing similar to what debuted on the Galaxy S5 smartphone and the device is also rumored to sport the fingerprint sensor that's integrated into the home button. Additionally, on the rear, there are two circles on the right edge of the back of the device that's rumored to accommodate a new Book Cover type flip cover for the tablet.

We will have to wait until Samsung officially announces the device to know the specifics.

I currently have an LG G Pad 8.3 GPE and the next slew of tablets aren't as tempting as I had previously thought.

I also love my g pad 8.3 great tablet. Great screen.
This however is nice but I hate touchwiz.

You can always put a better launcher like Nova OR get it rooted to remove touchwiz.

leaked renders...Now if only the Samsung Galxy S5 Prime could do the same....

Yeah, if the Prime really do exist it ought to be released pretty soon. too. If they want to avoid a clash with the Note 4 release.

Is that a flash on the back side, under the camera?

It seems to be.

Those bezels together with AMOLED blacks, best litterboxing on tablets. JUST IMAGINE WATCHING MOVIES ON THAT!

Yeah. I really want a Surface 3, but, AMOLED in an ultra-slim package might be too tempting to lure me away from the need to be able run my Windows apps on a tablet for another year...

Samsung get rid of the awful how button especially on a tablet! I love my note 3 but the home button kills me. If you rotate it for use in landscape who wants to use a button on the other side of the device... If the note 4 is the same then I'll have to find another phone. Other than that it looks fine but rather lacking in the style department. I have a LG G Pad 8.3 and Nexus 7 (2013) but I will not own a Samsung tablet with the lack of design that others have. I was a big Samsung fan for a long time but I have yet to see anything new in terms of style and use other than the standard display, processor and vague software updates. I can't see many people continuing to buy their products when this is considered "new". AMOLED screens are the best in my opinion but not at the cost of an otherwise lame tablet.

Let the hate flow

That is your personal preference and opinion... I on the other hand prefer the home button, and I especially like being able to wake up my phone by using the home button. Also as far as the over all design of the galaxy devices... I like their general design and I see no reason to drastically change it. The great thing about android devices is you have choices... if you don't like galaxy devices you can get something else.

No micro USB 3 shame because considering how fast the s5 charges that could do wonders for tablets

There's also that... Samsung needs to step up their game in terms of functiinality. I really like my note 3 but it looks the same as this tablet for the most part and it's almost a year old.

I'm going to be a pain in the arse and say that when I see this tablet I automatically dismiss it along with every other bit of Samsung piece of hardware. Literally every one. They are so damn... boring. I know it's all subjective, but it's bland to the point of being irritating to me. I suppose that I wouldn't care, but with Samsung's massive advertising budget I have to see their ugly devices everywhere I go. I wish LG and HTC would spend at much and save my eyes a bit.

I'm glad we have alternatives to the big two (apple and Samsung). Hopefully they become even stronger competition. That will only push those two to keep upping their game, and we all benefit.

The G Pad 8.3 is great except for the screen. One you flash a custom herbal to fix the gamma it's average but my N7 looks brighter and better. Samsung style was okay for a while but now it's all the same.

To each his/her own, but I have to say one thing about Samsung - their screens are absolutely incredible. I just bought the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (not too worried about the Tab S because I generally buy a new tablet every year) and the screen on this thing is just amazing. And the leather back is also incredible. Sorry but Samsung - like all big brands - uses the same design language. It creates authenticity and recognition. And that sells.

Love AMOLED screens! But Samsung... physical Nav buttons don't make sense on tablets!!! Give it up already!!

+1 LG needs to use AMOLED screens so we can actually have a great tablet with a great screen that's easily rooted and looks nice.

What is Samsung's rationale behind having 20 different tablet models on the market at the same time? The huge number of competing devices has always been a double-edged sword for Android; it gives savvy consumers the freedom to figure out the best device for them, but less-picky consumers who find all the choices confusing will just get an iPhone or iPad because they know what one of those is and don't have to think about it. But at this point Samsung is going to be competing with itself; one tablet will cannibalize sales from another and a certain number of people will just throw up their hands in bewilderment and make a beeline to the Apple store.

All models are usually not available in all countries. They just try to offer models in the right price range for each market. And to be fair, there is a lot of different iPad models and prices at the moment. I think it's around 20 alternatives in their store if I don't remember it wrong.

It looks like my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4. WTF? If this thing comes with 32gb out of the box, I will not be a happy camper.

Said it yesterday, gonna say it again today. The physical buttons on these tablets suck. I love my Note 12.2 tablet but hate the buttons. Keep it on the phone samsung, get rid of it on the tablet
