One year after it was launched, Amazon Fire Phone remains one of the biggest smartphone flops in recent memory. Now Amazon has cut the price of the unlocked 32GB Android-based smartphone down to just $159 in the US, but it's still too expensive compared to other phones.
Today's price cut follows that of Amazon UK, who reduced both the 32GB and 64GB versions of the Fire Phone down to just £99. The 4.7-inch smartphone, running on the Android-based Fire OS, still comes with a free year of Amazon Prime, which is normally worth $99. That helps reduce the overall cost of the Fire Phone down to just $59. Even with that offer, the smartphone is really not worth it, unless you need a really cheap backup to your primary phone.
