Your favorite Angry Birds characters, now on wheels

It's no secret that Rovio has a line of hits on its hands with the Angry Birds franchise, and the latest installment in the series is a downhill racing game. Any Birds Go! is not unlike kart racing games of the past like Mario Kart, with side-by-side racing taking you through difficult obstacles, collecting coins and taking out opponents along the way.

Rovio is also telling us up front that the game will be free-to-play, with several game modes and features included from the start. But we know there will be some kind of catch here, and can expect things such as kart customizations and unlocks to be managed through in-app purchases.

Ready to play? Rovio says that the game will be hitting Android (as well as other platforms) on December 11th.

Because the market has shown that it is more willing to make multiple smaller in app purchases than an initial larger cash payout, so they will likely end up making more than $5 per user this way.

THIS!!!! And to the commenter below that said the market has shown.. blah blah blah. I have to disagree. Companies make more money this way period and if you think there is any other reason you are fooling yourself. i personally think IAP's are the worst thing to hit mobile gaming ever!! I would rather pay upfront for the whole game and be done. At least give people the option. I dont know ANYONE that said "oh sweet, this game has in app purchases!! yay"

Its a way for the fn companies to drain your wallet easier with less of a fight! F-THAT!

Uhh.. I could be wrong but I think your disagreement with the other commenter is actually an agreement with the other commenter.

Thought the same thing. I'd gladly pay $5 or more if I could load this onto a couple of devices and play local PVP with my son. However, knowing that it will be overflowing with ads and junk that he will struggle to get off the screen makes me all but completely disinterested.

Hell yea. 1st thing I thought reading the heading was Mario kart. This what's up, after Rio I had to leave the birds alone, although I must say the space was alright but I didn't have it downloaded but a few days.

I've never really played Angry Birds, I'm not really a fan. But this looks awesome. I love almost any kart racing game

Ooh, something else to look forward to is coming out on my birthday. I hope it is a bit more entertaining than regular angry birds. They get boring after the first 15 minutes of playing.

What kills this game are the ADS!!! Even in the paid versions they drop ADS!!! I can not play any game they come out with because they will drop so many ADS!!!

hmmm says:

Just root your phone and use an adblocker. There are better ways to make money than ads, especially on the full games they already charge you to play.

I have never seen an ad in a game I paid for...

Give me a link

My first thought is it looks awesome. Then after thinking more about it I realized it would be a touch and/or gyro controlled game that would get old real fast. If they added the ability to use a bluetooth controller I'd probably give this more interest. I think this is the main reason I don't really play many games for very long on m y phone.

Will this be multiplayer? And if so, I'm assuming cross platform multiplayer?

you can get mario kart 64 from the market!

Qwkslvrmz says:

I really wish they would!! We bought a cheap tablet for my son awhile back and it had a off brand market that had mario kart in it. The controls were kinda bad but we had fun with it!! This seems kinda cool, might try it out as long as there aren't too many ads.. Like other people have said kinda done with the whole angry birds thing for the most part..

I'm so tired of angry birds and the IAPs and the ads. I haven't even installed the new starwars 2 version. Only so much fun to be had with slinging birds you know. Was awesome 4 years ago. Now? Boring. Maybe carts will be fun if they don't ruin it.
