Yahoo Weather grabs beautiful animations in latest update

Yahoo Weather was already arguably one of the most gorgeous weather apps you could get your hands on. Starting today, however, things are about to get prettier. Yahoo has updated its Android weather app with new animations for a whole host of different weather conditions.

With today's update, you can look forward to catching some beautiful animations in practically any weather condition. In a blog post detailing the update, Yahoo wrote:

With our latest Android update, you'll see weather conditions—fog, rain, heat, snow, lightning, and frost—animated through leveraging bleeding-edge graphics technology typically only seen in video games. We're excited to take your weather experience to the next level, as we make it even more delightful.

  • If only it was accurate about the actual weather. It could be pouring rain and it says cloudy. Posted via the Android Central App

  • When I had Yahoo Weather on my phone, it was pouring rain in my town, and the main Weather screen, after updating, said, "Dry conditions will continue." That's when I loaded NOAA Weather, and it has been on my phone ever since.

  • Animations aren't sticking. I turn them on and when I go back they're off! Posted via Android Central App
  • I do like this app but I've found that since changing to the Google Now Launcher the little bit of weather info it gives me at a glance is really enough for me most of the time.

  • Nice graphics and hopefully nice weather-forecasts.
  • It's not bad, but I like YoWindow much better. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Stop saying "whether the weather" is all that went through my mind whilst watching that Posted via the Android Central App
  • 1Weather for me. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Beautiful Widgets still has my vote.
  • I like weatherbug because it gives me the forecast in sentence form rather than a bunch of data. This yahoo app is nice to look at but its just like the other apps which just throw data at you and expect you to figure it out. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Animations are cool but this app has not given me correct weather info for probably 5 months
  • Beautiful ads! Posted via the Android Central App
  • I tried this app but it sent my notification bar into spastic fits on my Moto X, had to uninstall. Thanks to apk extractor I can continue to enjoy the ad-free version. If only the Play Store let me ignore app updates I don't want.
  • Wunderground! Very detailed and elegant, radar, various layers etc
  • Terrible widgets. Posted via the Android Central App
  • been using weatherbug since froyo days haven't really seen an app that befores better in all areas.
  • Their widgets and the ability to see weather in your saved cities (instead of just your current location) have been broken for so long. I gave up after a few updates with no fixes. Won't bother trying it again.
