Big Wear OS update for the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS is still unconfirmed

Update: A source close to Android Central stated that the Wear OS 3.0 update is not yet confirmed for the TicWatch Pro 3 at this time, but efforts are being made, and we should hopefully know more soon. The article has been updated to reflect the new information.
What you need to know
- According to a customer service representative, the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS will be receiving the new Wear OS in the future.
- There is no set date for the availability of the new wearable OS from Google and Samsung, but it's expected to launch this year.
- If true, this update would put Mobvoi into an elite category of manufacturers willing to update their smartwatch to the brand new OS.
Ever since the new Wear OS was announced at Google I/O 2021 — a joint effort by Samsung and Google to make the ultimate smartwatch OS — a few things have remained a bit unclear. Which of the best Wear OS watches will be getting the update? What is the new Wear OS going to be called? Thanks to a Reddit user, it seems that Mobvoi might support has some answers for us.
A customer service representative seemed to confirm that the TicWatch 3 Pro GPS will, indeed, be getting the brand new Wear OS update co-created by Samsung and Google. These types of statements from customer service representatives are sometimes peppered with partial information, so we'll have to wait for official confirmation before getting our hopes up. Given that the latest Samsung Galaxy smartwatches — and current Wear OS-powered Fossil watches — won't be receiving the update, it's would be impressive to see Mobvoi's dedication to keeping their smartwatches up to date in the most meaningful way possible.
Android Central wasn't able to confirm with Mobvoi, but a representative told 9to5Google that there "hasn't been any official confirmation on any update timings from Google." A source close to Android Central was also unable to confirm the update, meaning things are still up in the air for the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS.
Knowing how these sorts of updates usually work, it seems likely that Mobvoi would able to offer the new update since the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100. When it launched late last year, it was the first smartwatch to feature this chipset. Many other Wear OS-powered smartwatches run the older Snapdragon 3100 platform, which may not be receiving the needed support from Qualcomm for the new OS. That, alone, is already a big advantage for the watch and paints a rosy picture for future updates from Mobvoi.
Additionally, there's the name of the new Wear OS. We've seen Google and others refer to it as Wear OS or simply Wear. In the support response from Mobvoi, the representative calls it Wear OS 3.0. That marks the first time we've seen such a moniker and could help reveal Google's versioning strategy with its latest wearable OS. We'll certainly find out more as the year goes on and hopefully get more clarification about supported smartwatches.
Great now, even better later
The Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS is powered by the latest and greatest wearable silicon from Qualcomm, giving it amazing battery life and faster performance than other Wear OS smartwatches on the market.

This would make me very content with my already excellent smartwatch

I'm glad to see this since I recently got one of these. :)

I keep going back and forth between the Galaxy Watch series and the Ticwatch Pro series. I like notifications handling on Wear OS better but the fitness tracking just isn't good enough for me to stick with it.

Funny thing is that Mobvoi rep claims that while customer support does little after you buy the watch. Mobvoi has had significant issues with syncing health data with Google Fit since a couple of months and there is no feedback or info from the company side (check Mobvoi app in the Google Play store). The device is fine but customer support and services are terrible, so I wouldn't count on them keeping such a promise

I just use Google Fit on mine and it has no sync issues. I do get the impression thought that they dont have a large enough team to manage all their support requests however its hard to beat them up for this as thats part of a business growing through success. I honestly cant fault my Ticwatch Pro 3, I consistently get 4 days battery with everything turned on now and it works really well for my needs. The idea that its going to be further enhanced with Wear OS 3 just means its likely to stay on my wrist a lot longer.

Sure if you use Google Fit and not Mobvoi's TIcHealth but... this way you won't get sleep tracking or continues heart rate while working out. And during workouts there is no feedback on the LCD screen either. Mobvoi decided to develop their own apps so they should at least support them. But they don't. One of the comments at the play store that makes the point: it seemed to be a great watch, it was, and then it wasn't.
