The Official PlayStation app, coming soon to Android

Sony has just announced on its blog that the Official PlayStation app is soon to arrive on Android and iOS devices. Although this doesn't appear to be the app we've seen running on the Sony PlayStation Phone, it's still a pretty awesome announcement. As noted on the Sony blog, key features for the app include:

  • Check out your PlayStation Network trophies and keep up to date with your friends’ games and online status.
  • Discover all the latest games, news and hardware for your PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation 2.
  • Read all the announcements on the European PlayStation.Blog and comment.
  • Share your favorite products or news with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or via e-mail.

All isn't rosy here though with the announcement. Sadly, the app will only be available in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and The Netherlands. Although, Sony has stated that other countries are already in the works for the next version. [PlayStation EU blog]
