Google has announced that it will be revealing the official name for Android N in a few weeks. • So I'll be peeved if they don't send me a thank you gift before then!

  • Ironically you read and comment in AC.. Posted via Techmology
  • I'm still gonna go with either Nougat or Nutella (if they can license it like they did with KitKat).
  • Does nougat need licensing? Thought it was just a thing like chocolate Posted from my One M8 running a version of Android other than what HTC intended
  • Not Nougat hehe, Nutella does.
  • I've been leaning toward Nutella too but Nougat does make sense. Nerds is another possibility but would require a license with Nestle, who owns Wonka candies.
  • Nerds would be awesome TBH, but I doubt they'll go for it even if the license is available haha. People get too easily offended by anything these days, and even though the candy is still awesome and the name would be somewhat fitting, I'm sure Google being the company it is would get backlash if it names a product 'Nerd'.
  • I like nerds... You know for the joke of it. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Nutella seems the most logically since it's easy to create a Nutella Android and it's globally known. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Although Nutella has taken a fair beating lately over their Palm Oil usage and practices, even though Ferrero has stated that they only use oil from sustainable sources... Still, controversy. And again, we live in a pretty sensitive society.
  • The brand itself is more important. It has a global imprint people all over the world can relate too. Who cares about controversy? Android has controversy all day. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Fox is big. Marvel is a huge brand. X-Men is globally recognizable. And yet, one 'poor' choice of advertising is causing bad waves for the whole thing. Yup, the world does care about controversies these days. Most of the time, however, the wrong kind, unfortunately.
  • Ok. They still around aren't they? MS still around? They world is always filled with Controversy and keeps on moving. There's controversy over High Fructose and GMO too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Posted via the Android Central App
  • We have an announcement: We will be making an announcement in a few weeks!
  • this was more the announcement that the submission page is closed.
  • I'm going to go with Android Neapolitan ice cream or Android Neapolitan. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Nuts!
  • How about Nutter?? Hehehe Posted via the Android Central App
  • "Not" for ATT Note 5? :) Posted via the Android Central App
  • Better "Not" than "Never"? Why do i even comment!
  • For note 5, it's probably never. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Noooooooooooooooogaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....
  • I hope it's nerds. :/ Posted via the Android Central App
  • Oh man that would be perfect. Nerds and nerds... Posted via the Android Central App
  • If it isn't Nerds, they will be missing a golden opportunity...
  • Heres why it cant be nutella, nutella is a spread that would be a terrible statue and easter egg. all the other names were things that had a defining shape. lacking ambiguity. without the word nutella it could be poop for all you know.
  • i hope they arent considering nutella simply because you people hyped it up so much. personally i don't even like the stuff
  • Amen brother! Stuff is nasty. Nutter butters would be a better choice.... I mean how you gonna make a nouget or Nutella statue!?? Even a pebble shaped nerd is questionable. That said, nerds would be fantastic fodder for trolls in the comment sections...it's got my vote!
  • No worries.... It will definitely not be Nutella. Neapolitan is the most likely. Posted via the Android Central App
  • It's nutella in a jar. Nothing hard about that. They made Ice Cream that too has no "definite" shape per se. Froyo? And it's not that people are hyping it up. Nutella has a global imprint. It's easier to relate to on a global stand. Posted via the Android Central App
  • froyo is the only exception to what i said and even still it was more general than Nutella. the equivalent here would be like calling the next version "spread" and it was called Ice Cream Sandwich. Do you even android bro?!?
  • Aww you taking offense now? Even with Jelly bean they made the statue out of an Android filled jelly beans. It doesn't take a rocket science to know they would make a Nutella Jar Android. And since we're talking spread, let's assume M will be Mayo. Or maybe mustard. Lol It's not about it being a spread. It's about it being Nutella. I'll wait for your grumble though. First you talking about defining shape, than you talk about general. I guess you don't remember what the Froyo statue looks like. Posted via the Android Central App
  • where did i take offense? and i never said a statue of andy holding a jar was impossible or even difficult. i said it was dumb. and your nonsensical point about m is moot because m already exist. go home your drunk.
  • Oh you missed the point. But I understand. And it's you're drunk... Posted via the Android Central App
  • you had no point to begin with.
  • Well you told me then. Posted via the Android Central App
  • i know.
  • Yea. He just wanted to argue about nothing. Normally what I do when I'm drunk. Lol.. I'm with you.. Sandwich spread should not be an option. Just stupid... Lol Posted via the Android Central App
  • Lmao Posted via Nexus 6P snitches
  • I have voted for Neyyappam, a traditional dessert from South Indian state of Kerala. The name is featured in the Google video too. If approved, wud be a welcome change! Posted via the Android Central App
  • Inability to pronounce it could be a hindrance. Posted via the Android Central App
  • No. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I know that would be cool but that'll be difficult to pronounce and type out #TeamFrosty Nexus 6P
  • I vote No for this. I can't even have sense what it looks like or tastes,
  • Nut Brittle was my submission. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I personally like Nerds. It would be so fitting and ironic in nature. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Who cares Posted via the Android Central App
  • Ah another I don't care so I HAVE to write who cares because I care enough to ask the question who cares. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Must be a silicon Valley thing, in all seriousness, NO ONE CARES. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Your presence here begs to differ. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Who you trying to convince? Posted via the Android Central App
  • No one cares that you don't care - wait. Note 4 910C 6.0.1 | Good Lock UI | Android Central App
  • Go away. You no care commenter about not caring. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I vote Android 'Naked' ... you know, like the drink ;)
  • Nachos. It better be Nachos... Posted via the Android Central App
  • We shall see what they choose. I submitted Android "Nutter Butter" as my idea for the name.
  • I think its gonna be Nutmeg
  • People keep saying that, but it's not even a desert or 'tasty treat' as Google describes them. It actually tastes really gross on it's own. Posted via the Android Central App
  • haha! True. Android Neapolitan it is then.
  • Not too concerned about the name, I'm just anxious for the software! :) Been Very tempted to run the beta on my phone but I feel like it's just wiser to wait for the final build. Posted via my Nexus 6P on Verizon (or any d**n network I choose)
  • Yawn. Just give it to us already! Posted via the Android Central App
  • Now & Laters?
  • NMcNFace :-) Posted via the Android Central App
  • Well, if it isn't "Nutella", then I'm going to be somewhat disappointed. Oh well, there's other things to worry about than the name of a new version of Android. :P
  • Neyyappam..... Posted via the Android Central App
  • Nooo
  • Clearly it's Nutella from their hint! Posted via the Android Central App
  • I think it'll be Non-fat Yogurt. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Nut brittle sounds great. I vote for this name,
  • Nutmeg Posted via the Android Central App
  • The name of the N version of Android will be NoRoot *"powerful you have become, the dark side I sense in you"*
  • Nxipqruzvbrll is the only rational choice.
  • Apparently Ferrero is playing hard to get. But I trust Google will be able to spread some sweet money in Ferrero's hands in exchange for the rights to call Nutella to Android N. It's not like it would hurt Ferrero...publicity to their already beloved product in the World's biggest mobile operating system.
  • I kinda wish they would stop naming them....it's easier to type N, than some candy name...like marshmallow is way to exhausting to type...in fact I need a nap now ....;) Posted via Serenity
  • They always just keep it as "N" and move away from naming each release. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I've been running the latest preview of N for a few weeks. I've been very happy, generally. Only issues with some apps that will likely need updating. It runs buttery smooth on my 6p.
I think calling N Nerd should be appropriate and short, but I'm not hopeful.
  • How about Nougat? Posted via the Android Central App
  • Should name it Nachos Posted via the Android Central App
  • ( Android Nickelodeon ) This is the name I would give for the new android n.. Thank you for taking the time to look at the name. I'm new with android and I'm learning how to use marshmallow this week. Its been fun but at my age sometime I don't get it. In fact this is my first real cellphone. The samsung s7 edge. New time for me. Good luck to the person who will name android n.
  • Any guess? Android N dp4 release on?
