LG V20Source: Andrew Martonik / Android Central

When's the last time you've had a phone with a removable battery? Chances are, it's been a while. The LG V20 above was one of the last mainstream Android phones to offer the feature, and it was released back in 2016!

Removable batteries used to be an expected thing for every phone that came out, but here in 2020, they're incredibly rare. Some of our AC forum members recently started talking about this very topic, and the conversation went as follows.

I'd also submit it's so that phones are easier to track. I'd hazard a guess that there has been governmental pressure put on manufacturers.
