At a media event in New Delhi, Xiaomi launched the Mi 4 in the Indian market. The device will be available for sale on Flipkart from February 6, with the 16GB model initially on offer for Rs. 19,999 ($325). The 64GB variant is set to make its debut in the country at a later stage.
Initial sales will feature the white color variant, and unlike earlier flash sales, Xiaomi will have adequate units of the Mi 4 for sale. Head of Xiaomi India Manu Jain stated during the event that anywhere between 25,000 to 40,000 units of the device will be made available for the first sale.
Featuring the latest iteration of MIUI, the Mi 4 comes with a 5-inch full-HD display, 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, 16GB eMMC 5.0 flash memory, 13 MP camera at the back, 8 MP shooter at the front with an 80 degree wide-angle lens and a 3,080 mAh battery. Unlike the Mi 3, the Mi 4 features a metal design, with Xiaomi noting that the device's steel frame goes through 40 processes during production.
