LG Lucid

Right on cue, Verizon Wireless has today launched the Lucid, a mid-range 4G LTE smartphone from LG. The Lucid packs a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM, a 4-inch IPS screen and a 5MP rear camera. On the software side, there's Android 2.3 Gingerbread with LG's Optimus UI, and the promise of a future upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich in the future. It's nothing too fancy, but for $79 on a 2 year contract (after a $50 mail-in rebate), you wouldn't expect a bleeding-edge device.

We'll have a full review of the LG Lucid in the next week, so stay tuned.

I would think at this point all devices released this late in the year would have ICS; even if they aren't high end phones. I guess since it's Verizon G-Bread has to come first :p

Actually I would expect high end tech for that price. Lets see gotta my Samsung Note on a 2 year contract for 1 euro and the plan is only 35 euros a months. Wow that's value.

79 Bucks for that phone on 5 years is just bad. Free at least when u can get Samsung Note for a buck or even tablets for a Euro. Bad pricing.

I. Ment 2 year contract 79 Bucks is to much u get tablets and the Samsung note for 1 euro in germany on 2 year plans and depending on the provider it could cost u as less as 20 bucks really. Well now this are prices we can say good. But those usa prices plan and phone wise are often way to high.

I ment the plans can be as low as 20 a month plus a 1 euro tablet or note. But in the usa a freaking lg lucid is 79 on 2 year on verizon 59 plus plans? Really wow pretty good deal.. Lol

Ha ha Ronniez. The last good phone lg made was the g2x and that only became good after the gingerbread update. The 3D was kinda a let down still better then the EVO 3D but still not great. Did LG made any good highend phone in recent memory? Yeah The LG nitro was a decent attempt still not the real blow away experience specially being specs packed like it was.

Why all the Hate for a $79 Dual Core 1.2 Ghz, 1 Gig or ram, 8 GB on board storage. I know LG hasn't made the best smartphones (except the Optimus) but that's a great price for the specs (haven't seen the display specs, just that is an IPS panel (qHD would nice, I don't think they make a 720P 4" display yet).

Trevor the hate is because it is a bad pricing. I mean again. You can get tablets samsung note for 1 euro for 2 year contract with plans as low as 20 euros to start with in germany. In the usa cheapest is like way higher basically the cheapest plan is where the most expensive plan in germany ends. And then a 79 for a middle class phone on a 2 yeah plan? That's ridiculous. I mean I get tablets and samsung note for 1 euro on cheaper plans. Now that is a good price.

Your comparing oranges to soda cans. I'm sure that you can get the note for a great deal in Europe . But, in the US , the Note is 299$ , and thats on a 2 year contract. I think what the poster above you was trying to say is that for "the US" , a phone with theses specs, for 79$ is actually a decent price. Hence, "why all the hate" comment.

Well sorry. I think it might be a ok phone. Just saying I never would pay the price for that nor call it a great deal. But what actually annoys me is that u can have the best device currently available and then 3 months later it is basically old news. It just gotten ridiculous to fast within them coming out with new phones. Just let people enjoy there phones for a while until I come out with something new and better. And the lg lucid is OK but I am pretty sure there are better options for less or just like a few bucks more on verizon to get a device for.
