Everyone's favorite blue hedgehog gets selected price cuts for the holiday season

From today until January 1, Sega is getting in the festive spirit by offering a range of price cuts on selected Sonic the Hedgehog mobile titles. Sonic Jump is going free for the promotion, while there are savings of up to 80% across other titles.

Four other Sonic titles have been reduced from their respective regular prices, down to to just $0.99. So, if you're interested, you can grab Sonic CD, Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I and Episode II for under 4 bucks. And that's not half bad.

Damn. I just bought Sonic 4 Ep II the other day for full $4.99. Oh well it's a good game. At least sonic racing is .99

Nintendo would be making a killing if they released all their games from NES, super nintendo, and 64 in the Play store. They own all those titles and are just sitting on them.

This.

Maybe if Nintendo had a dog in the mobile gaming race I could see not releasing their titles on mobile, but right now its just lost revenue.

I don't think the 3DS has been "wildly successful" at all. In fact, compared to the DS Lite its sale has been pathetic.

Fair enough, but if you look at the sales of SEGA's games (eg Sonic 4 Ep 1 has less than half a million sales at ~$5) compared to Nintendo's (eg remake of Zelda 64 sold nearly 3 million at ~$40), I think Nintendo's strategy is sound. They are maximizing their revenue.

I just bought Sonic 4 Episodes I and II for a buck each. Android Central, I spend so much money because of post like these

I've been waiting for a compelling reason to buy these games and I finally have one. The Sonic games are probably my favorite video games of all time and I've beat the original at least 20 times. Here's to many more.

I must be missing something.....sonic jump is still not free but going for 99 cents instead. Is the post wrong?

At .99 per app,it's taking me along time to spend this 50.00.
