Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Android

Just in time for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, an official action game has just gone live in the Google Play Store. Players pick one of the four classic turtles, and use specific swipes and taps to lay the beat-down against Shredder's minions in a number of different ways.

Tapping the screen when an enemy is about to attack launches a counter, while upward swipes send baddies into the air, and horizontal ones deliver devastating attacks.

Build up your combo multiplier but not getting hit, and once your Turtle Power meter fills up, you can call on your bros to come in and do a little damage themselves with some fast mini-games. If that sounds at all like Combo Crew, that's because it's the same devs behind it. As you progress, you can upgrade your favorite turtles, get them new gear, and work on climbing the leaderboards. There's a story mode and a series of challenges to meet, if you've got the radioactive wherewithal.

It's a little snakey that they're doubling up with a $3.99 pricetag and in-app purchases, but with such a beloved franchise, I'm sure there are going to be plenty who are willing to shell out. In any case, here's the trailer for the movie if you haven't had a chance to check it out.

True. Michael Bay is attached with Megan Fox, which equals big bucks at the box office. I'll see the movie, I grew up with the show.

Lol, live action movies make them appear how they would in real life and in real life they are scary ass hell. Same with transformers.

I'm hoping it isn't, but we'll see. The turtles look like crap, why did they make them so ugly.

I'll laugh if the old movies are better though. Another childhood memory destroyed by Michael Bay.

Nothing will be destroyed. I'll just download the first two movies from the past, pick up a pizza while I wait and watch those. Memories saved.

Game is pretty basic. Combos and breakers get you good points. The levels end quick but its moderately fun. The different turtles and their different fighting styles add a little more to it.

I reallly hate to do this but I have to go see the movie. My 4 year old wants to see it and now I find out that my ex's brother is actually playing a foot soldier in the movie. Ugh!

Yeah I heard they got a lot of random people off the street to play them. That's pretty cool.

I grew up on the ninja turtles and still love them. Owned all three of the first movies but this movie looks horrible. I guarantee the story will suck and there will be no good acting. I love action movies but lately action movies just flash a lot. So much happens so fast and over long periods of time..... Hopefully I'm wrong but if the commercial is any indication to what the movie will be, it'll be terrible.

Nah, the first two movies were awesome. This new movie could only wish to have such an awesome scene like Raphael fighting dozens of Foot alone on a rooftop.

Let's just be glad that all michael bay is doing in this film is producing it... He is NOT directing it.
Game looks sweet tho. Going to my wish list

A producer is a director's boss. He has the last and biggest vote on cast decisions and who directs and how.
Shredder's armor having spikes over spikes like one of his decepticons kind of shows you how much influence his "artistic direction" has over the director.

Cool but not for 4 bucks and IAP's. Has anyone that played it know if the game is heavily reliant on IAP's? Or can it be enjoyed without them?
