AT&T Optimus G

AT&T's LG Optimus G will be available Nov. 2 for $199 on contract. Pre-orders start tomorrow.

And, well, that's about it. We've got the carrier's version of the Optimus G in our hot little hands, and it's pretty faithful to the worldwide version, though as we noted in our side-by-side with the Sprint iteration, some software and hardware features have been tweaked.

Anyone considering getting this instead of the Nexus version?
Benefits would be LTE, the ability to try it in store, and saving about $250. Of course the downside would be having to root to get stock jellybean. Any thoughts?

I wonder how easy it will be for AOSP releases to be ported to it, if the LG Nexus is going to be so similar hardware-wise....

Any word on the bootloader? Can it be unlocked?

ajfink says:

I don't think LG locks their bootloaders.

I hear that the LG 4x has a locked bootloader and everyone is expecting this to be the same

I am interested in getting this. Does anyone think a pre order is a must if you want this phone? I can't see it selling out in an hour like the iPhone.

I honestly doubt a pre-order would be needed for this. Not a lot of people toting around LG phones so not a huge demand for them.
