Preorder Elder Scrolls: Blades on Android today

The Elder Scrolls is a legendary franchise and games like The Elder Scrolls Online and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are regarded as some of the best role-playing experiences out there. The freedom and expansiveness these titles offers is second to none. Bethesda is always looking to introduce new players to the franchise, and The Elder Scrolls: Blades is the studio's latest venture.

Executive producer Todd Howard said that The Elder Scrolls: Blades would come to many other platforms, but it's launching on mobile devices first. If you're interested, you can "preorder" the game for Android and iOS right now. Luckily, it's a free-to-play experience with microtransactions, so you don't have to pay at the moment. It's unclear what types of content will be attainable through actual currency, but hopefully it'll be limited to cosmetic items and avoid pay-to-win boosters.

According to the iOS listing, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is expected to launch on December 1, 2018. However, the title was originally scheduled for September, so there might be another last-minute delay. We'll keep you posted as soon as we receive more information from Bethesda about the release date.

In The Elder Scrolls: Blades, the empire's top agents are forced into exile. On the run, you return to your hometown to find it completely destroyed. From there, you embark on quests to become your city's champion through single-player storylines. Apart from that, you have to rebuild your hometown and restore it to its former glory. Lastly, you can participate in player vs. player matches against your friends and rivals. It sounds like an Elder Scrolls game in its truest sense.
