Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' is currently free on Google Play

Are you ready for a cheap (er, free) thrill courtesy of Google Play? Well, if you're a fan of Michael Jackson (and, really, who isn't?) you can now pick up the artist's iconic Thriller album for free on Google Play if you're in the US.

It's highly likely that most of Jackson's diehard fans already own the album, but this is a great way to pick it up if you haven't done so already. You'll nab 10 tracks in all, including the timeless title track, Beat It, Billie Jean, and my personal favorite, P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing).

So, if you feel like prancing around your house like a zombie to celebrate the start of the weekend, hit up the link below to grab the album for free on Google Play. Just don't shamble to it at zombie speed, because we're sure it won't be free forever.

  • Just snagged it. Love the album even more now that it's free! Posted via the Android Central App
  • I'm still kind of new to Android. How do I get the music on my Google Play music onto my regular music? Is it possible? One picture at a time--LG V10
  • From a desktop/laptop computer, you can download albums and individual tracks onto your hard drive. From there, you can do whatever you want with the audio files. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Not in the UK though. "Life in the so called space age."
  • I'm only seeing it if you sign-up for the free trial of google play music. EDIT: It's showing as FREE if you click the link in the article, BUT going to the album directly from Google Play makes you either pay for it or sign-up for the trial.
  • It looks like that's linked to in the article is a different edition of the Thriller album, as it shows up for me in the Play Store as "Thriller: Exclusive Google Play Edition" when I click the article's link (which is currently free), whereas searching for Thriller in the Play Store shows up as just "Thriller" and is $9.99.

  • There was more than enough evidence when they emptied his estate. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Like? "Life in the so called space age."
  • He had a bed. Posted via the Android Central App
  • ..... And he had a penis. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Sorry I didn't realise you were party to all the evidence. Posted via the Android Central App
  • What evidence? The man was cleared of all allegations and still you insist on the accusations. Why? Posted via the Android Central App
  • Unless you can afford to buy off a courtroom, of course. Not saying it's what happened here, just pointing out that it DOES happen. "I sleep on the bed, never on the floor. Michael Jackson, HE sleeps on the floor." -Jack the ripper.
  • Awful comment. Not proven..... Posted via the Android Central App
  • never eaten at subway? ever supported billy 'the rapist' clinton?
  • Exactly. Moto X 2013 (U.S. Cellular)
  • Well this just means that his estate won't get any money from the sales and if it does it isn't going directly to him since he isn't around anymore. I picked it up on my account and will on my kids accounts as well since they love his music.
  • He may or may not have done inappropriate things with kids. That's debatable. What isn't debatable is the douchiness of your comment.
  • Fuck you Oliver! Posted via my Nexus 6p
  • Except he wasn't and was innocent. Disgusting comment Posted via the Android Central App
  • Geesh, get over it. He was followed worse than a serial killer. The FBI alone for more than 10 years, The media was good in sensationalising stories around him, and the mindless public was quick to judge. Despite all these, plus the court case of course where the Santa Barbara County tried all its best to put him down - he was proven innocent.
  • Don't care. I don't have to like the man in order to like his music. Now if the songs were about raping children and how to get away with it then that would be a different story.... Posted via the Materialistic Android Central App
  • There was video proof of the guy in 1993 planning the entire thing. The woman that came after sued tigger at Disney land for the same thing and that's how she made a living according to her husband and yet still that isn't enough for you. Just admit that you want to hate the guy. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Tigger sucks anyway, good riddance.
  • Everybody knows they just wanted his money. Have u been living on the moon for the past 15 years?
  • Totally agree. He admitted to sleeping with children. He watched child porn. The finger prints of one of the boys was on his bottle of wine. Sheesh. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Not proven but come on. We all know. That being said, his music was that good that you could almost ignore it :) Posted via the Android Central App
  • Do we. Another person who has all the evidence in front of them. The news love to tell us what happened as they of course have no vested interest in making thing up to sell their product. Posted via the Android Central App
  • How do you know? Just don't make assumptions even though he was cleared of all allegations Posted via the Android Central App

  • Not proven unlike Bill Cosby and his raping or Jimmy Saville as well Posted via the Android Central App
  • I LOVE FREE!!! :P
  • Nice freeb.
  • I'm just thrilled to have thriller in my music collection... No pun intended.
  • Thank You
  • Love the album. Odd that it's free now and not during Halloween. Posted via Android Central App
  • Only one song on the album was tangentially related to Halloween themes.
  • It also happens to be the album title. Posted via Android Central App
  • Got it. Moto X 2013 (U.S. Cellular)
  • I got excited then remembered I pay for play music. Nice freebie nonetheless. Thanks for reporting!
  • I still pick up the free stuff, and buy some things. You never know when/if the streaming rights will expire. Netflix has taught me that lesson.
  • Free pedophile music - no thanks Posted via the Android Central App
  • MJ was followed worse than a serial killer. The FBI alone for more than 10 years, The media was good in sensationalising stories around him, and the mindless public was quick to judge. Despite all these, plus the court case of course where the Santa Barbara County tried all its best to put him down - he was proven innocent. They found NOTHING. MJ was innocent.
