Cyanogen OS 13 brings Marshmallow to the OnePlus One

OnePlus has now confirmed that Cyanogen OS 13, which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, will begin rolling out to the OnePlus One via an over-the-air update imminently. Speaking on OnePlus' forums, a OnePlus representative announced the rollout (opens in new tab), stating:

Our friends over at Cyanogen have informed us that CM 13.0 (ZNH0EAS26M) based on Marshmallow will drop starting tomorrow. The rollout will be staged so only some of you (random) will get it at first, and as always, patience is appreciated.

While CyanogenMod is referenced rather than Cyanogen OS, some users have already begun receiving the OTA update, confirming that it is indeed CyanogenOS 13.

Regardless, OnePlus One owners should begin seeing the update arrive over the coming days. Once updated, you'll have access to all of Android 6.0 Marshmallow's goodies, which include Doze mode, granular app permissions and more.

Once you've received your update, be sure to chime in with your thoughts in the comments and on our forums!

Thanks for the tip, Leo!

  • But today is April 8th... Technically April 9th for me. Posted via the Android Central App

  • My OPO notified me about two hours ago (5:30 EST US). I have successfully upgraded to 6.01. Now time to explore. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Please provide your review about battery life (SOT), camera improvements & other goodies if any. Any bugs? Has call quality improved? Looking forward to your review. Will update after that.
  • Just rebooted for the first time. . Very slow. Now my cell connection is gone even though it shows the sim in the drop down. Posted via the Android Central App
  • To leave my custom rom for cyanogen or not?
  • Cyanogen rom on the opo has greatly improved. Don't know about this update, as I regretfully switched to oxygen, but it was great when I switched four months ago. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Can't you change back? Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yeah. I just don't feel like it. Would probably take fifteen or twenty min on the PC. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Not for nothing, but OnePlus One has had Marshmallow for months now, as part of the CM 13 nightlies. And the official CM 13 snapshot for Bacon/OPO was released in March.
  • I remember a rumor that the oneplus 3 will be coming out in June/July. I personally wouldn't buy anything from the company, but if you want too, I would wait. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Question guys... I get paid next Friday and I'm seriously considering ordering a Oneplus Two. Although I'm pretty set on getting one I'm still going to ask. Is it still worth buying right now, especially now that it's got 6.0. Any news on a Oneplus three? []Nexus 5 M 6.0.1[]Moto 360 Black Steel[]
  • If price is your main concern. I can understand buying one. I have read some customer service horror stories online, which would be enough to put me off buying one. But for a very cheap phone I suppose there are worse choices. Posted via the Android Central App
  • It's best just to get a Nexus [It seems you have a Nexus to] for some actual support than the mediocrity that OnePlus offers #TeamFrosty Nexus 6P
  • I wouldn't buy it. The phone isn't that good. As a proud owner of the oneplus one... I can easily say the two pails in comparison. The quality just isn't there. Notice how nobody mentions their two around the comments. Notice how the bloggers all hate it also. The same ones that gave the opo phone of the year no less.
Get the 5x for $200 and join fi. At least then you will be OK with a cheap phone. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I would buy elsewhere. The Oneplus One is a good phone, but the OPT is a let down because of their Oxygen OS. I had the One, handed it down and got the Two and I regret it. Thankfully I found the Nexus 6 at $250 a few months ago. Personally, I would not recommend a One Plus to anyone. Posted via the Android Central App
  • All of this is true. Listen to this man.
  • I doubt you'd regret your purchase if you bought one (unless, god forbid, you end up having to deal with customer support at any point), but you can probably find something that'd serve you better for the same price, like a Nexus 6 or a refurbished G4.
  • I would recommend buying it only if you don't mind seeing the one plus 3 come out later this year. Op2 is a great phone for OS price, with great features. I've owned atleast 10 smartphones in my life and never contacted customer service, maybe my provider a few times though, so I can't comment on that. Great battery life, decent amount of storage and MARSHMALLOW coming soon. However if you have more $ to spend Nexus would be a good choice Posted via the Android Central App
  • OnePlus 2 is a different story now after the marshmallow update. I'm getting top notch performance and great battery life with it. Also crazy fast finger print scanner. Right now waiting for the ota to get maxxaudio back and small bug fixes. Posted via the Android Central App
  • No need for waiting for ota use cyanogen update tracker app and u can download it Posted via the Android Central App
  • Thanks for the tip. I got it that way. Will I still get future OTA updates?
  • Thank you. I downloaded that app and Marshmallow was waiting for me. Everything seems normal so far. GPS and Bluetooth works. I always charge my phone at night but maybe I won't to see how and if Doze works. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Thanks for the tip on the Cyanogen Update
Tracker App, did that, no issues. To early to really tell, but the upgrade went fine. We'll see if battery life improves.
  • Hey I downloaded the update tracker app. It shows the option to download cyanogen OS 13 and then apply update through recovery. Can you tell me whether we have to use stock recovery only and will there be any data wipe out? Really concerned about that.
  • No data was wiped. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Okay thanks
  • Nice! Doze will be welcomed! Posted via Serenity
  • I suppose I'll pull mines out the drawer it's in, fire it up and check. Just couldn't bring myself to sell it even though it's not my daily anymore Posted via the Android Central App running on my Galaxy S7

  • Got mine through cgn update tracker straight after was available. Ive got one bug: battery usage section doesn't show apps apart of Screen which shows 0% but when you tap it it is showing the right time. Anyone has this one? Posted via the Android Central App
  • I can't access the internal storage. When I connect it to my laptop it just shows the name but the folder/phone is blank. I need to add and delete music. Any ideas? Posted via the Android Central App
  • Issues official trebuchet not working properly. When you apply any other theme it's shows trebuchet stopped working and we have to restart to fix it Posted via the Android Central App
  • You should probably reset your phone to fix those bugs. These bugs occur when you use cyanogen update tracker, don't be impatient wait for the update to come automatically don't force it. Posted via the Android Central App- OnePlus One
  • There is no different between ota and manual update both are same Posted via the Android Central App
  • I know there is no difference but the update is pushed in stages so that cyanogen can track the update and check if there are any problems, if not then the second slot of rollout starts. This helps to fix any bugs that user experiences while updating or any other. Posted via the Android Central App- OnePlus One
  • Did anyone get mods in cm13(I get only 2 one is hyper lapse and second truecaller)truecaller caller all ready available in cm 12.1 Posted via the Android Central App

  • Download the OTA of 6.0 for 1+1 from here
  • I've been using it for a couple days now... I had to revert back to stock and then flash the OTA. It seems much more stable than CM. I really like Oxygen, but I wanted MM.
