Yahoo!

I'm not exactly sure how many folks out there use apps from Yahoo but if you're among those that do, you'll want to check the list below. Reason being - Yahoo is laying some of their mobile apps to rest to focus on a whole new set of apps that more so meet users needs. So what apps got the cut?

  • Yahoo! Meme (iPad and iPhone)
  • Yahoo! Mim (iPad)
  • Yahoo! Answers (Android)
  • Yahoo! AppSpot (Android and iPhone)
  • Yahoo! Deals (iPhone)
  • Yahoo! Finance (BlackBerry)
  • Yahoo! Movies (Android)
  • Yahoo! News (Android)
  • Yahoo! Shopping (iPhone)
  • Yahoo! Sketch-a-Search (iPad and iPhone)

That quite a few apps to kill off but from looking at the list, it's looks as though those apps are smaller on the chain and may have a minimal amount of users.

Hate their mail app, and even though their mobile site sucks too I use that ad you can not stop their e-mail app from running in the background...o

And they will probably be replaced with one MONSTER app that does it all and exhibits similar uselessness.

Yahoo makes apps?!?

I tend to disagree. I have the Yahoo mail app because I dislike Gmail and especially hate the Gmail app. It's all preference though. I just happen to like Yahoo's mobile mail layout better.

Anyway, Outlook is the worst. It's a cumbersome pain in the dick to use.

In further news, one person is reported to have liked the movie Gigli and despised Schindler's List. Back to you.

As long as they leave YAHOO MESSENGER ALONE i could care less what YAHOO DOES...

Haha I haven't used Yahoo Messenger since ~2001.

Wow. I'm obviously in the minority. I like the yahoo mail app. I guess there is a small part of me that likes to think I am holding out against total google domination.

TekNiKal says:

The only reason I currently ever use the mail app is to mark emails as spam. Overall, I like the mail app, but the zooming and scrolling are so clumsy, I stick with the stock mail app. If they could ever smooth those I out, I will be dedicated user.
