Trident Aegis case for the HTC One M8

Two layers of protection keep your One M8 safe from the elements, and the rugged styling will stand out as well

Several different accessory makers have case models that offer up extra protection with a double-layer approach, and the Trident Aegis case for the HTC One M8 is no exception. Using the combination of a grippy and shock absorbing rubber case with a tough outer hard plastic shell gives you more coverage than a standard one-piece case, keeping that precious phone of your safe for the long haul.

It may be a bit too macho and rugged for the average case buyer who's just looking for some basic protection for their phone, but it'll be a good choice if you need a bit more — read along for more info on the Trident Aegis case for the HTC One M8.

The Trident Aegis case provides a serious amount of protection with its dual-layer approach, and even more so with how thick and cushioned the soft rubber core of this case is. It has a really cool honeycomb-style pattern on the inside (shaves a few fractions of an ounce, sure why not?) and plenty of extra rubber around the perimeter — including coverings for the volume rocker and USB port — of the device where you'll be holding it.

Snapping the hard plastic cover over the rubber portion completes the deal, protecting your One M8 from everything you can throw at it. The case styling is a bit on the rugged side, but choosing a different color other than black could help that out. The chunks of rubber that stick out through the plastic case on the side make the case easy to grip — which is a good thing since your phone will have a notably larger footprint with this case on.

This double-layer protection that will keep your One M8 safe from all of life's bumps and tumbles will set you back just $29.95 from ShopAndroid, and it's even available in seven colors: black, blue, green, pink, red, white and gray.

I prefer the Kraken line from Trident. Also if you had over to Amazon you can find the Aegis cases for a few bucks cheaper, the Kraken is as low as 18.99, free shipping

I agree, I've never gotten the thought process of wanting to buy a thin phone with narrow side bezels and an aluminum uni-body housing, to throw on a bulky case to make it a thick phone with wide side bezels and an ugly plastic body.

It helps to remember these cases are REMOVABLE. It's great to love the lines of a beautifully designed phone and then be able to slap a case on it when you're going to be in conditions that warrant it. Then when not in those conditions you take it off and enjoy the phone caseless in all its glory.
Most of us who use these types of cases don't put them on and forget it. These are used when needed and then removed when not.

I could understand people need such a case for work, but damm, it's ugly as hell.
