If the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 doesn't already strike an imposing enough figure on your desk top, then you might want to take a look at this latest accessory release for the 5.5-inch behemoth. Unlike some previous accessory launches for Samsung devices -- remember the Galaxy Nexus debacle anyone? -- this is an actual product that is actually for sale right now.

We first saw the Smart Dock -- albeit locked away in a glass case -- back at IFA 2012, in Berlin, the same event which saw the launch of the Note 2 itself. It promises to give you a makeshift desktop and media set up with a variety of useful connecting ports all rolled into one handy device.

Packing a set of USB ports, a HDMI out connection and even a speaker line out port, the Note 2 Smart Dock is pretty well connected. It also comes with a pretty hefty price tag of $99.99. If the price doesn't put you off and you're thinking of picking one up, be sure to sound off in the comments below and let us know your thoughts.

It's cool but I don't think I need all those ports. Might get this one though. Not sure I'll need a spare battery on this so might even get the one without that option

That actually sounds pretty useful, even more so because it'll prob be ~$50 on Amazon in 6 months.

That is pretty good, for a few bucks more then the OEM charging dock you can buy this cool feature. I think it would be very usefull with that beast of a device. The Note 2 IMO is the best phone for 2012-2013. I'm a big Nexus fan so I will have to buy both, it's going to kill me but I have to have them both and of course with all the bells and whistles.
PS Just wish Google could have made their Nexus 4 with 32gb of int storage. They blew it, They throw all kinds of great specs at that new phone and leave out what I think is one of the most important features of a smartphone, int storage.

I've been looking at the Clambook for awhile with the GNote 2 in mind. It isn't out as of yet, but having knowledge that the GN2 is meant to be a multi-tasking platform (that 2gb RAM, yum) I believe that the two will be a heavenly pair. It works with iOS and Android phones.

Is this just an MHL adapter and USB OTG wrapped up into a dock? In which case, would it work with a Galaxy Nexus or S3? Color me interested.

Could someone tell me if there is a smart dock for Galaxy Note 10.1. it would be useful to connect my hard drive without worrying about external power sources for each port.

Its actually a lot cheaper now at Walmart and Amazon. And what's great is that this Note 2 Smart Dock works with the new Note 3 smartphone, check it out if you are interested:
