Huawei Ascend Mate 7 leak

If Huawei's latest teaser video alluding to the Ascend Mate 7 hasn't captured your attention, how about a few leaked photos of the device itself? Scheduled for an official unveil next week at the IFA, the third generation Ascend Mate is rumored to offer a 6-inch full-HD screen, octa-core Kirin 920 SoC and a 13 MP camera.

The images highlight the device's thin bezels as well as the presence of what looks like a fingerprint scanner at the back. Huawei made references to both features in its first teaser video, along with mention of automotive integration and… cats. Where does the feline integration come in? We'll have to wait for another week to find out.

What do you guys think of the Ascend Mate 7?

Huawei Ascend Mate 7 with super-thin bezels spotted in the wild

Bummer. This device looks decent but the size is a deal breaker not to mention it's most likely not coming to the US.

I had a Huawei and I was actually happy with it, it was my main phone for 8 months. I changed only because during that period Huawei released ZERO updates for it. So if there is any bug that affects you you will have to live with it forever, I guess.

One day I will perhaps buy chinese phones, but this day has not quiet come ... Indeed, when Huawei and others will stop ripping off other manufacturers design ?? Total Rip off of the HTC One Max ...

HTC is Chinese, too... :)

It's sort of complicated to make a "unique" design these days, when bezels are almost completely gone. Sure, they could have added a lot of bling-bling effects to make it look different, but then no one would buy them.

Let's light up that screen and see how thin the bezels really are! Cloud just be a HTC One approach to make you think the side bezels are thin until the screen lights up to realize the bezels are hideously thick...

Not to mention, that white border is additional plastic. So you get the same bezel in use, but because they are trying to deceive you, it is more fragile. Even with gorilla glass, the edges and corners are still vulnerable. IMO, a bad move.

I'd prefer a smaller size. 5.5 would be perfect. The quality of Huawei phones are surprisingly good.
