Android Central

We had the first hints of an announcement on HTC Jelly Bean updates yesterday by way of Aussie carrier Telstra, but now the manufacturer is sending out a statement confirming what many already expected with regards to Android 4.1 upgrades. Unsurprisingly, HTC says the One X, One S and One XL (that's the Snapdragon S4-powered One X with LTE, sold on AT&T as the One X) are all due for a bump up to the latest version of Android --

"We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google's latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean."

So it looks like there'll be more updated to follow, and we'd certainly expect phones like the EVO 4G LTE, Dinc 4G LTE and (maybe) Rezound to be among the list of HTC phones that eventually get Jelly Bean. Fingers crossed, guys. In the meantime, check out our predictions of which devices will be getting Android 4.1 in the months ahead.

HTC confirms Jelly Bean updates for One X, XL and S, we feign surprise

Thank you HTC for coming out and saying it. It's nice to have confirmation from the manufacturer. Now we just have to wait on AT&T for 6 months to put their BS in it.

Any hope of asking direct questions about what parts of JB will be included?
Will Google Now be in there?
Will the newer Notifications?
Is the UI going to be Buttered?

Get it actually said.

Yup just like the Rezound was getting ICS early 2012. F you and your empty promises HTC. You are better off not saying anything.

You lost another customer for good.

Wonder why you continue to lose market share and drop in earnings?

Like we couldn't figure this out ourselves. Honestly their not anything worth wild giving a dead set date would've gotten much more attention. This is just Window dressing this means nothing to android users. Bottom line I love my Galaxy S3 with ice cream sandwich as it is now. Come November I will have to make a decision to purchase the New Nexus from the Google play store or the upcoming Galaxy Note 2 coming in September/October that will have jellybean. Either way today I am enjoying my Galaxy S3 on Tmobile.

Wish they would do the whole 18 months worth of updates their supposed to thanks to the Update Alliance formed and/or announced at Google I/O 2011 they would have many happy customers who would come back next time.

Today I got an update for my unlocked htc one x.
software number is 1.29.401.12, anybody know what changed?
